One week later.

James's POV:

I haven't been home in over a week and tonight is mine and Alex's first date and I'm so excited but also terrified. What if I mess up. What if he hates me. I was standing in front of a body mirror and had on black skinny jeans and a white knit sweater. I studied my body for a second and could tell that I was gaining weight and it made me want to cry. Even though I only eat healthy food I'm still getting fat. I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself down.

"You look so nice." I heard Alex say and smiled to myself. He wrapped his arms around me. "Open your eyes and look at how amazing you look." He mumbled and I opened my eyes to see his sweet smile. "You're so cute." He mumbled into my hair. He was only wearing his boxers. He spun me around and kissed my nose. "I'm going to get dressed and then we will leave okay?" He mumbled and I nodded.

I walked out of Alex's room and sat on the couch. Juliet jumped onto my lap. Adelaide walked into the room and smiled at me.

"Are you excited?" She asked and sat next to me? I nodded. "Are you nervous." She asked and laughed a bit.

"Yeah what if I fuck up? I've never been on a real date. Help me?" I asked and she just laughed at me and grabbed my shoulders.

"You're going to do fine. I believe in you and I know you're nervous but you need to let down your walls for a little while and tell him stuff." She said sweetly. "Bad timing, but you need to go back to the doctor tomorrow." She said and I nodded.

"Do you know where he's taking me?" I asked and she shook her head. She was about to say something but Alex walked out and I couldn't help but smile. He walked up to me and I stood up.

"Are you ready?" He asked and I nodded and he grabbed my hand. We walked out to the car and he opened my door and I blushed. He closes my door and walked to the other side and got in. He put his hand on mine and intertwined our fingers. We drove for about half an hour and then I saw lights. I knew exactly where we were going. We pulled into the large gravel parking lot and then he opened my door for me. "Welcome to the carnival." He said in s fancy voice and then laughed.

"Thank you Alex." I said and hugged him tightly. He laughed at me and kissed the top of my head. We walked around and stopped at a few game booths and Alex won giant teddy bear and I won a small tiger.

"James!" I looked around to see Alice running toward me and I smile and picked her up.

"Alice! I missed you so much." I said and she hugged me tightly. "Who are you here with?" I asked and she pointed towards Susan. Susan looked over at me and smiled and walked over.

"James! It's been so long. How are you?" She asked and hugged me. She looked over at Alex who was kind of awkwardly standing there. "Oh hi Alex." She said sounding confused.

"Hi Mrs. Johnson." He said and kind of looked away. I forgot that they knew each other. "I'm going to go get us something to drink." He said and walked away.

"What is happening in your life?" She asked kind of confused.

"I don't know not much." I mumbled and looked over to see Alex talking to a waiter.

"What happened to your leg? Why did you and Mikey break up? Why are you with Mikey's boyfriend?" She asked multiple questions.

"Someone hurt me, he got pissed because I wouldn't tell him what happened to me, and Alex and Mikey broke up. We're kind of on a date." I said and she smiled at me.

"I hope you guys are happy together. I better go Mikey's around here somewhere I hope you have a good date." She said to me and I thanked her. Alice hugged me one last time and I handed her my little stuffed tiger. She smiled and followed Susan.
