The next morning came as quickly as the previous one ended. Niall stood in the bathroom, examining himself in the mirror. He had put on his best clothes for another first day at another new school.

He didn't think he should've felt as anxious as he did. Liam was the one who had to worry, his best friend was already crumbling right in front of his eyes.

Everyone decided to watch a movie the night before their first day at Wolverhampton high, and Niall couldn't help but notice how much Liam was shaking.

But the thing that really caught the blond's attention was how the amber haired boy continuously kept whispering things to Eleanor, he just looked panicky throughout the whole night.

Niall pushed, no shoved, the thought away and walked out of the bathroom. He pulled the door so that it closed behind him, suddenly he hit something hard.

He fell to the floor, looked up and there he was standing above him ominously. Liam. Niall's little fall earned a chuckle from his best friend.

"my bad Ni," Liam grinned and stuck his hand out to help Niall up.

The Irish lad shrugged and wrapped his hand tightly around Liams, practically getting snatched up. "it's all good Liam, you're really strong." He chuckled.

"It's a werewolf thing." Liam shrugged as if it was the most casual thing to say. And in a way, it was.

Niall nodded. He couldn't help but to notice Liam's smooth looking face, he obviously shaved the prickly little hair that used to make him look ten times older than he really was.

He was wearing a simple grey hoodie and skinny jeans, he just looked like a normal teenager.

"well, I'll meet you at the car." Liam said, his happy expression suddenly vanished. As if he hadn't smiled once in his whole life.

Niall watched him disappear downstairs, turning to see Harry. Which made him jump practically three feet high. "you scared the shit out of me."

Harry laughed. "Sorry love," He apologized and pulled Niall into a tight hug.

Niall smiled, resting his head against his boyfriend's chest. "It's fine, when are we leaving?"

"in just a moment. I need to talk to you first." The curly haired lad suddenly sounded dead serious.

"what is it?" Niall looked up at him.

"There are a lot of vampires and werewolves here, I just want you to be careful love."

"I will, Haz."

"still got my lighter?"

"I haven't taken it out of my pocket."

The drive to school was short. So short that Niall thought it was too short. He didn't even get a chance to admire much of his new surroundings.

As soon as they walked into the school, everyone who had been talking went silent. At first Niall was confused until he realized, they were staring at Liam.

His best friend kept his gaze locked on the floor that was so clean, you could literally eat off it. Niall felt Harry's arm hook around his waist and pull him close. He didn't understand why, not realizing how many guys were actually staring at him.

A mixture of different voices filled the halls, some had the courtesy to whisper. Others, not so much.

"Payne? we thought we'd never see you again." A guy's voice announced, and Niall wasn't able to see him until a group of girls stepped aside.

He was tall, but fit. His muscles showed proudly through the tight shirt he wore. The hair on top of his head was up in a quiff like Zayns, who stood loyally at Liam's side.

The guy had what sounded like a Scottish accent, something Niall was always mistaken to be. His hair was the kind of brown you would mistake as black.

"hi Sean," Liam half murmured half whispered.

Sean smirked. "Haven't seen you since junior high, how's life been treating you?"

Niall could tell by the way Liam's expression had changed that he didn't like this Sean guy. Liam shrugged "good, up until now."

"And you've got a little group of friends with you this time, more fun for us." Sean laughed, two guys that stood on either side of him joined in. Every shepherd needed his sheep.

Louis suddenly stepped up beside Liam. "Try anything like that and I'll make sure you never walk again mate." He sounded as serious as ever, staring directly at Sean.

Several 'Ooo's bounced off the walls of the hallway. Sean was redder than a tomato. "You better shut up if you know what's good for you."

"Very intimidating." Louis said, sarcasm replacing his high pitched voice. "I'm soo scared."

"you will be. All of you, why don't we start with this little guy?" Sean was already gripping Niall's arm so hard, he thought it would fall off.

"Don't fucking touch him." Harry's voice rose, he took a step toward Sean and Niall thought he was going to hurt the taller boy before a teacher pushed his way through a crowd of students that now, circled Niall and his friends.

"that's enough, first day in and you already almost got into a fight." The man's voice sounded American, which surprised Niall.

"come on, all of you in my office." He ordered. That's when the blond realized, this guy wasn't a teacher. He was the principal.
