Chapter 6 - We All Fall Down

Erza's POV
After my little meltdown, I wiped my tears and was about to go make myself some dinner, but then...
-Buzz Buzz-
I picked up the phone and said "Hello?", and the response surprised me.
"H-H-Hello Erza...it's me...Jellal's mom." I was stunned.
"Wh-wh-why are you calling?" I answered.
"Jellal----" she stopped and began to cry instantly after saying his name.
"You don't need to tell me over the phone. I'm coming over." I said, then hung up. I ran to my car and started driving to Jellal's parents' house.

Small Author's Note: So, I know we don't know anything about Jellal's parents in the manga/anime but I needed to add Jellal's mom as a character in this story, and she might not be in this story anymore except for this chapter and maybe the next chapter, unless you guys want to see her in the story a lot since it is a Jerza story. Jellal's mom probably isn't named anything like this, we may not find out her name, but I'm going to give her the name Jennifer. Because, I mean, why not? Sorry for the interruption. Back to the story!

When I got to Jennifer's house, I knocked on the front door and Jennifer answered. She had a tissue box in her right hand, and her left hand had turned the door knob to open the door.
"H-h-hello Erza..." she stuttered, sniffling. I went in and we sat on the couch.
"Alright, so, tell me what's going on." I said. She relaxed a bit.
"Alright. Here it goes. So, I got a call about an hour ago, from the hospital. They said that Jellal was in the hospital, and he's in really bad shape. I haven't gone to see him yet because I was so scared. They called me right after I called you and told me he just went into surgery. I was going to go see him but I wanted to let you know first." she explained. I was speechless for a few minutes.
"Alright. Let's go." I said, calmly.
And we got up, got in the car, and went to the hospital.

Wendy's POV

While Jellal-senpai was over, a woman with a gun came into our house and shot Jellal-senpai in the stomach. My mom and I took him to the hospital and he just went into surgery about 15 minutes ago, but Jennifer-san hasn't come to the hospital yet. The woman who shot him got away.

Third Person POV

Erza and Jellal's mother got to the hospital in one piece. Wendy greeted them at the door, and explained everything to them. Jennifer cried a lot, Erza seemed stable. Erza and Jennifer sat next to where Grandine and Wendy were sitting. The doctor came in to tell them the good news a few minutes later.
"Jellal is going to make it. You may go see him now, he is still recovering, but we managed to get the bullet out of his stomach. He's going to be just fine."
Jennifer cried tears of joy. Wendy and Grandine hugged, and also cried tears of joy.
But Erza...she went to go see him.

Erza's POV

"Hi Jellal," I said to him as I watched him breath ever so slowly.
"Erza..." he replied.
"Jellal, who did this?" I asked.
"Hey wait...who are you?" Jellal asked. "I only remember the name Erza...and I don't know who that is." He said, looking really emotional.
"I am the one you call Erza. And you are Jellal Fernandes. You rebuilt the Tower of Heaven and almost activated the R-System, to revive The Dark Wizard, Zeref. In the process, you destroyed my happiness, our friends happiness, and you went to jail. Somehow you came back and started going to Fairy Tail High. That's all I'm going to say." I said, turned around to not face Jellal. I didn't want him to know I was crying.
"I did that?" He said. I was so shocked. When I turned around, he seemed to be crying too. I tried to walk over to him and comfort him, but when I did, it was too late. My eyes started tearing up, my entire body is shaking.

NO JELLAL YOU CAN'T DIE YOU HAVE TO STAY WITH ME! JELLAL!

But it was all over.

Jellal Fernandes was dead.
