Chapter 11

Legion

Smallville, Kansas

Clark walked home, alone after his final class at school. He had a great day at school, Lana had kissed him. Clark walked home with a smile on his face, happily and hummed. When Clark arrived at home he had saw that his Ma had made pancakes as a snack for him.

"Hello Clark," Martha greeted Clark as Clark walked to her and hugged her, "How was your day at school?"

"It was fun." Clark stated as he kept smiling. "I didn't really learn much but lunch was fun."

"Really? What'd you do?" Martha asked as the two stopped hugging.

"Uh, I don't know, I guess I was just in a good mood today." Clark answered while he walked to the table to eat pancakes.

"Your father's out buying eggs and milk, while he's gone, he wants you to move the haystacks that are outside in the barn. Do that when you're done eating." Martha stated while she walked over to the sink to wash the dishes.

"Alright Ma." Clark said as he sped up eating his food.

In about a minute, Clark was done eating. Clark picked up his plate that recently had the pancakes on it and handed it to Martha, who was still doing the dishes. Clark then walked outside, still smiling and saw dozens of haystacks outside in front of the barn. Clark smelt the fresh air and took a deep breathe. He then used his super speed and super strength to move the haystacks inside the barn. That took him about thirty seconds.

After putting the haystacks away and not even breaking a sweat, Clark made his way over to a tree and sat in against the rough, wooden branch. Clark looked to his right and stared at the cornfields and then looked to his left and looked at the flowers. Clark loved Spring Season, it was the most beautiful time of the year.

Two boys walked past Clark's house. One had black hair and the other had brown. They went to Clark's school. "Is that Clark Kent?" The black haired boy whispered to the brown haired boy. Clark could hear them.

"Yeah, I think so. That kid's a freak. I want to get out of here." The brown haired boy replied.

"Yeah, me too." The black haired boy stated as the two ran off.

After the two ran off, a blue portal opened up behind Clark. A glass ball, that could hold five humans, shot out of it. Clark cautiously walked up to the glass ball and saw three kids his age sitting in it. The kids were wearing colorful spandex. There were two boys and one girl. One boy was wearing purple and white, another was wearing blue, white, and orange, and the girl was wearing blue and white. The glass ball opened up and the kids hovered out of it. The portal then closed after they got out of the ball.

"Hello Kal-El." The girl wearing blue and white greeted.

"Uh, my name is Clark Kent." Clark replied, in shock that they were flying.

"We know," The boy in the purple and white spandex replied, "My name is Cosmic Boy. This is Saturn Girl." The boy pointed to the girl.

"And I'm Lighting Lad." The boy wearing white, blue, and orange stated.

"We're from the 30th Century." Saturn Girl informed Clark.

"That's the far future to you." Lightning Lad said.

"No way." Clark smirked.

"Yes way." Cosmic Boy shot back and pulled out a silver ball that projected a video into the air. It was a video of the future.

"Whoa." Clark mumbled while looking at the video. Everything was so different, so technologically advanced. It looked peaceful.

"We wanted to meet you and to thank you." Saturn Girl smiled while approaching Clark.

"Thank me, for what?" Clark asked.

"You might not believe this today but someday you won't always feel like this. Someday, the world will praise you and follow you. Someday, they'll accept you for who you really are." Saturn Girl explained. She put her index finger and her middle finger underneath Clark's chin. She stared into Clark's glasses. "Keep that chin up, okay? You won't have to hide behind those glasses forever."

Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad then got back in the glass ball that brought the three to Clark.

"Wait, where are you going?" Clark asked, looking into the ball.

"We need to get back to the 30th Century, we already risked a lot coming here." Cosmic Boy stated.

"Wait, can I come?" Clark was interested in where they were going.

"Where? To the future?" Lightning Lad said.

"Wherever you guys are going!" Clark replied.

"We already broke the rules by traveling through the time stream." Cosmic Boy explained to Clark.

"Please!" Clark begged, anxiously wanting to go.

"Come on, take that magnet out of you butt and let him come, Rokk." Lightning Lad said to Cosmic Boy, "Look at the kid, he needs a laugh."

"Well, what's the big deal in breaking one more rule?" Cosmic Boy smirked.
