Chapter 21

Heartbreaking Advice

Smallville, Kansas

It had been nearly one week since Clark had started training with Jor-El and he had already mastered how to use his heat vision. Jor-El knew a lot about Clark, he knew he was dating Lana. As happy as he was for his son, Jor-El knew it was only endangering her.

Jor-El had decided to ask that Clark would stay a little later after he finished training. Jor-El didn't want Clark to hurt Lana on accident. He didn't want his son to be put in that situation.

Clark in the barn to find Jor-El's hologram activated. "Hello Jor-El." Clark greeted.

"Greeting Kal-El." Jor-El replied as the rock, turned white. "Your freeze breathe, show me how to use it." A rock appeared in front of Clark.

Clark opened his mouth and puffed at the rock, moving it almost ten feet. Clark did this for about an hour, being entertained while doing it. After an hour passed, Clark was done with training and Jor-El asked if he would sit down. Jor-El turned the room back to normal and Clark eyed Jor-El, wondering what he was going to say.

"Kal, I hear you are dating Lana..." Jor-El stated.

"Yeah, why?" Clark asked, confused.

"Kal... It's not smart. With your powers, you or someone with you meet with powers could hurt her." Jor-El informed Clark.

"I'd never hurt her! What are you talking about!?" Clark questioned, enraged.

"I know you'd never purposefully hurt her. But you could accidentally hurt her or worse..." Jor-El said, calmly, "Or look at your friends, the Legion... They didn't mean to hurt her but they did. Clark..." Jor-El didn't usually call Clark but his Earth name, "I don't want you to be in that situation..."

"That isn't your decision!" Clark shouted while his eyes turned red.

"I know it isn't but it's advice and I hope you think about it." Jor-El replied as his hologram turned off.

Clark walked out of the barn and sighed, he knew Jor-El was right, he just didn't want to admit it. Clark didn't want Lana getting hurt again, he knew what he had to do.
