Prologue

The Key

Warworld

The Warworld was one of the Universe's most dangerous weapons. It is ruled by Mongul, a violent warlord, who's father had killed to conquer the moon sized arena. It was grey and had orange cracks that shined when activated. The Warworld was used to pit species from different planets against each other. The species would kill each other for their right to live, however no one was able to leave. Mongul knew how much the Warworld was worth, how much people wanted it. He knew that someone would try to take it from him someday.

A black hover ship had connected a bridge to Warworld. Two green skinned creatures had walked out of the black hover ship and walked towards Warworld. The creatures wore golden armor all around their bodies and were known as "Parademons". Parademons belonged to Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips. These monsters were known to kill millions. They were brutal and craved blood.

The Parademons walked on the bridge and once they put their right foot on Warworld, a purple armored, yellow skinned being landed on them. Green blood splattered everywhere, including on the yellow skinned being's feet. The yellow skinned being was three times the size of an average human being. This yellow skinned being was Mongul.

Mongul picked up a head of a Parademon and examined it. "Worthless creatures." Mongul spat on the lifeless Parademon's head, "Darkseid is better than this, much better."

An orange, yellow black hole opened up on the bridge that the dead Parademons were using to get onto Warworld. It was a Boomtube. Apokolips and New Genesis had used these to teleport themselves around the universe. Mongul knew who was coming. A rocky skinned creature jumped out of the Boomtube. It wore blue clothing that covered everything but it's arms and it had red eyes. Mongul knew who this was, it was Darkseid. Darkseid was known for conquering worlds and betraying friends. He was bigger than Mongul!

"Mongul, you know what I've come for. Give it me." Darkseid demanded in his rough, deep voice.

"Ah yes, the key that keeps Warworld activated. You're smart Darkseid, you know it doesn't belong to you." Mongul laughed, thinking this was all a game.

Darkseid started to get irritated, "I don't want to fight, Mongul. I don't have time for games. Give me the damn key!"

Mongul was entertained by Darkseid, laughing on the inside, "Why should I give it to you? So you could be one step closer to the Anti Life Equation and domination? No, the key will stay with me. Don't be foolish, leave Warworld at once."

Darkseid was enraged, his eyes were Turing bright. "Fine, I will take the key, forcefully."

Darkseid leaped towards Mongul, who was standing on Warworld. Darkseid tackled Mongul and held him on the ground. Darkseid punched Mongul in the face five times with red blood flying out of Mongul's nose after each punch. Mongul, after getting annoyed by all this, threw Darkseid off of his body. Darkseid landed on his stomach and Mongul kicked him in the ribs three times. Darkseid then swung his hand towards Mongul's face, back handing him. Mongul fell the on the ground. After Darkseid, got up, walked towards Mongul, and begins punching and kicking him multiple times.

Darkseid was laughing now. "You should have never crossed me Mongul. You know better than this nonsense."

Darkseid walked away, leaving Mongul in pain, and enters a door that Mongul was trying to guard. Darkseid saw hundreds of artifacts being held in glass containers like a Beetle Scarab, a Green Lantern ring, and a Sinestro Corps ring. Down a hallway, Darkseid noticed a diamond shaped, grey item, the size of a Rubik's Cube. The item was the Key that activates Warworld. It was being held on a grey, cylindrical table with an orange light shining down on it. Two silver androids, the size of a human, were defending it. The androids had a cannon as their right hand. Darkseid walked up to the androids as they fired red blasts at him. Darkseid was unaffected and put his massive hands on the Androids' foreheads and crushed their heads. He then grabbed the Key. He smiled at it, admiring it. After the Key was removed, Warworld's orange cracks stopped shining and alarms go off everywhere with bright red lights flashing.

Darkseid smiled and kept worshiping at the Key, "Such a beautiful tool but a deadly weapon."

Darkseid walked back to the door where he entered to see Mongul on his feet, standing on the bridge. Mongul spat out blood in front of Darkseid's feet and laughs showing his bloody teeth.

"Did you really think defeating me would be that easy?" Mongul mocked. Mongul's face turned angry. "I am the ruler of Warworld! You will not take what belongs to me."

Mongul started to run towards Darkseid. Darkseid did the same. They met each other  in the middle of the bridge. When Darkseid was about three feet away from Mongul, he tried to throw a punch at Mongul's face with his right hand, holding the Key in his left hand. Mongul dodged the punch, moving his head and grabbed Darkseid's arm. Mongul then threw Darkseid on his back but Darkseid quickly got up and charged towards Mongul again. Darkseid is able to push Mongul on his back and kicked Mongul in the jaw. After, Darkseid stepped on Mongul's face with his left boot.

"Stay down Mongul. This is not a battle you want to engage in. If I wanted it, you'd be dead already." Darkseid stated with his boot still on Mongul's face.

Somehow, Mongul is able to grab Darkseid's foot. Mongul then slammed Darkseid on the floor but he is still able to hold on to the Key. Darkseid, on the floor, shaked of Mongul's hand and got up. Mongul, who was on the floor too, stood up along side Darkseid. Darkseid threw an uppercut with his right hand, hitting Mongul in the jaw. Mongul's head flew up but quickly came back down. After being hit in jaw, Mongul grabbed Darkseid's shoulders and kneed him in the stomach. Mongul then threw Darkseid on his left arm and he dropped the Key off the bridge. The Key floated away. Darkseid, still on the ground, put hands out, trying to get the Key. But he can't reach it. Darkseid got back on his feet and tried to jump for the Key but Mongul held onto Darkseid. At this point, the Key is almost of out sight.

Mongul started laughing again but in an angry manner, "If I can't have the Key, Darkseid, you can't have it either."

Darkseid's eyes turned brighter and he became angry, "You idiot Mongul! The Key is gone now because of you!"

Darkseid, who was still being held by Mongul, elbowed him in the face and got up from the ground. Darkseid then kicked Mongul in the right ribcage, causing enormous pain for Mongul. After, red crooked lasers fired out of Darkseid's eyes. Mongul knew what these were, Omega Beams. Darkseid hit Mongul in the left eye with his Omega Beams, blinding him. Mongul screamed in rage and got up and ran towards Darkseid. Mongul pushed Darkseid off the bridge and he floated away.

Mongul wasn't laughing anymore, blood was coming out of his left eye, "Next time we meet Darkseid, you die."

A Boomtube opened up behind Darkseid, sucking him in. Mongul was still on the bridge screaming in anger. Mongul punched the ground, cracking it and red blood coming from out of his left eye hit the ground. Neither of them had the Key now and Mongul was the wielder of a weapon that couldn't be used.

Near Earth's grey moon, Luna, the Key floated by. The Key passed a LuthorCorp satellite and headed towards Earth.
