Note: This is the English version of one of my novels. Please do take note that this will be updated along the revision of the Taglish one so there would be slow updates here. I just made sure to post this so anyone who would be interested in this one could read it if there aren't any books of mine caught your interest. Thank you! 💕

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Three months ago...

My chest tightened, my hands suddenly tried to feel if my heart was still there --- beating. After that sudden shock, I don't know how to react at all. It almost felt like I had no guts to move as my legs trembled at the spot. I heaved a sigh of relief as my breathing finally went back to normal. My eyes then focused and glanced at the car that had stopped itself on my left side.

God, I felt like I almost had a heart attack.

That sudden feeling that you were about to die right in front of your very eyes then it vanished afterwards --- as if the grim reaper was mocking you.

That's how I literally am right now.

I thought that it was my end, the moment where I'd finally disappear from the world.

My mind went blank, there was nothing more I could explain at this point. This driver, whoever the hell they were, was probably looking for a date. That's probably the reason why they weren't looking at the road.

And no, the driver was not driving a cab. It's their car, for damn sake.

There was a side of me that couldn't help but burst out my emotions. I couldn't take it anymore. My face darkened as I charged towards the side window and knocked. I know that the driver couldn't hear me right now, but at least I tried getting their attention.

"Hey, roll down this window! Whoever's on the other side, I want to talk to you about this. I will not let this one pass!" I yelled and knocked furiously once again when a blurry figure from the inside just stared at me. Wait, the driver was a guy!

Even if the window was tinted, I could still see him hesitating --- his hand going to the wheel and the button for a few seconds.

"Next time, try to learn how to drive properly. I haven't even been to Paris and yet you wanted to crush my dreams into shambles by killing me with your car? Unbelievable." My arms naturally crossed out as I raised my eyebrow at the guy.

While I was complaining, I could see streak of eyes darted towards me, most of them were muttering and gossiping around the scene. Meanwhile, a lot of loud cars just honked their horns from the back --- later decided to just overtake the car and leaving such horrible comments hurling at us. I didn't even argue though, we were blocking the middle of the road.

"If you can't drive this car properly, I suggest you take another road, sir!" I added as my eyebrows furrowed immensely when he just stared back at me --- not even doing anything. He probably thinks that my ranting was actual entertainment.

Oh, the nerve.

Though, if I could picture myself as a random person on the sideline, I'd probably think I was a mental patient who just escaped imprisonment too. Damn it, this wasn't a great day for me indeed. Such bad luck.

My lips pursed as I saw the person inside of the car had finally decided to roll down his window for me. I guess he had the guts to face me after that endless rant I made.

But before I could even open my mouth to speak, I couldn't find the words I wanted to voice out. It felt like someone had just sealed it back shut. The only thing that I could manage to do was to blink, gulp, and be perfectly silent.

What the hell?

"Miss, are you finished?" The guy quickly asked me, smirked before he raised an eyebrow at me.

He wasn't an old man. No, he was a teenager around my age or probably older than me. Though, I couldn't really tell since I wasn't a professional at knowing people's age.

His eyes were the same as dark chocolate, almond shaped, and looked like he was already patiently waiting for an answer --- knowing the fact that I was still speechless. There was a few second silence between us, his perfectly shaped jawline and naturally handsome face kicking on view.

Sure, that would be everyone's expression of him. But not for me.

I was speechless because he was the same fvcking guy at Jollibee. And noting the fact that he was the one who almost hit me with his car had made it completely worse.

And let me tell you, he had the audacity to scoff and give me a cheeky smile once he saw me just standing there, not moving and finally glaring back at him.

"You..." I trailed off as he just looked away.

"Do we have any problem miss?" He finally asked, putting his hand on the wheel, before giving me a sideward glance --- his chocolate eyes filled with mixtures of curiosity and amusement.
