//Sapphire's POV\\
Sapphire glared at Matt.
"GET OFF" She screamed
"Woah!" Matt replied, putting his hands up as if surrendering to the police. "Chill bro"
She stormed up to Matt and snatched her bright pink journal out of his hands.
"Anyway, before you rudely looked through my belongings, I was going to ask you if you'd care to join us down stairs for dinner?" She asked.
"Sure" Matt replied, smiling like an idiot. When Matt smiled, it stuck out like a sore thumb, for he was missing one tooth and had a huge gap when he smiled. It looked kind of cute, to be fair.
He pulled himself off the floor and began walking down the stairs.Grabbing the chair away from the table, she sat down opposite Matt. Her mother and father also sat down and joined them.
"So, Matt," Mother smiled "Are you settling in well?"
"Yeah, I guess," He replied while looking down at his food in disgust. Sapphire glared at him, as if to point out the fact that looking at your food like it was crap was rude.
"Good, and how about you Sapphire?" She asked "You enjoying Matt's company?"
"I suppose he's not the worst roommate" she replied, shrugging.Shortly after finishing dinner, Matt and Sapphire stood up, pushing themselves away from the table. Thanking her parents, they headed upstairs to prepare for bed.
Sapphire directed Matt to the bathroom to change. He reached for his small shabby bag and pulled out a pair of small black shorts and a dark navy t-shirt. As Matt headed towards the bathroom, she slipped on her matching purple t-shirt and trousers and sat on the side of her bed, grabbing her bright pink journal out of the bottom draw of her cabinet.
Pulling the lid off her pink sparkly pen, she began to write:Today has been quite eventful. This kid called Matt, our friend, has just moved into our house! Meaning he has to sleep with me...... Well until the spare room has the bed set up!
The bathroom door opened and Matt's loud footsteps could be heard from Sapphire's room. Matt walked in and slung his clothing into the corner of the room, making a messy pile.
"Hey, Matt?" Sapphire smiled
Matt didn't reply and continued to rummage through his little, shabby bag.
Shrugging, Sapphire didn't really think much of it and carried on writing in the journal.
Suddenly, she noticed Matt pulling a cigarette out of his bag, followed by a lighter.
"Matt, no." She said flatly.
Matt furrowed his eyebrows, pouting.
"It's not my damn fault" he mumbled many things to himself, shoving the cigarettes back into his bag with a glare.'21:30' the clock read.
"Shall we get an early night then Matt?"
She mumbled while yawning
"Uhh..Yeah sure, but this is way too early for me!" He replied, scrunching up his nose and frowning.
he began to slip into the sleeping bag, as I climbed into my bed. It was quite awkward at first but we just had to live with it until the bed was set up in the spare room.
"Night, floor Matt" she snorted, closing her eyes.
Muffling came from inside the sleeping bag next to her bed.
"Whatever, Saph"She could hear faint muffled music coming from somewhere, but She wasn't sure where from. Sapphire turned around to face a moving sleeping bag, which had a beam of light visible from it.
Matt held a small device in his hands
"Ugh! Matt, you and your bloody video games, will it ever stop!?" Sapphire questioned.
Matt paused, glaring back at her directly in the eyes as he lowered his eyebrows in annoyance. Slowly but surely he closed the screen of the device and shoved it back into his bag, still keeping sharp eye contact with her.Sapphire looked over at Matt. He was messing with the little blue plaster that rested on his nose, grunting and staring up at the ceiling which had little glow in the dark stars on it. Sapphire could feel her eyes getting heavy and heavy each time she blinked, although Matt didn't even seem to be getting sleepy. Glancing over at the clock, she yawned.
'22:30' the clock read, it had already been a whole hour. Eventually her eyes gave in and she was fast asleep.'BEEP BEEP' the alarm clock rang.
Sapphire slowly peeled her eyes open and struggled to stop the alarm from clock ringing. She managed to sit herself up and wake up.
"Matt, wake up Matt..." She said softly, while hitting him repeatedly across the face.
"Whdjshsndbdh" Matt mumbled "Get off me!" He kicked, making the sleeping bag look all funny; like a caterpillar.
Sapphire giggled to herself and proceeded to annoy him, poking his freckle-covered cheeks continuously. Eventually he dragged himself up and began to wake up.Matt grabbed his bag and pulled out a giant, metallic blue, can of some sort of hairspray. Matt began to style and spray the hairspray. There was a cloud of hairspray beginning to surround him, and Sapphire began to splutter, cough and struggle for breath.
"Oops..Sorry bro, I like my hairspray a little too much" he chuckled. She chuckled along with him, still coughing and struggling to breathe. After the hectic drama of the hair spray, She finally began getting ready for school.
Sapphire stood there deciding on what fabulous outfit she should wear.
"Oh Sapphire...you girls are so picky on what to wear. Us boys just chuck anything on" he chuckled as he continued to shove on a sea green t-shirt and a pair of shorts.
Sapphire looked back at him and laughed.'8:40' the clock read.
"Oh god quick! we're gonna miss the bus!" Sapphire shouted.
They both grabbed their bags and ran as fast as they could to the bus stop; there was no time for breakfast this morning!
The boy looked at Sapphire with a raised eyebrow; then back at her watch.
"do you seriously get the bus at THIS time? Jesus Christ, it's like one hour earlier than mine." He spluttered through a pant.
Just as Matt and Sapphire arrived at the bus stop, the bus was coming up over the top of the hill.
"Phew! We made it just in time" she said in relief, panting.
As soon as she stepped one foot onto the bus, She instantly heard a voice coming from the back of the bus
"HEY GUYS!" Liana shouted with a giggle.
The thing about their friendship group was that we weren't exactly the most popular or liked group in school... They liked to call themselves the 'outcasts' of the school.Matt and Sapphire proceeded to walk to the back of he the bus.
"Hey Liana!" They both replied, Matt sat next to her and shuffled awkwardly. "Morning Lian'" he chuckled.
The bus set off.
