"Happy new year's!!" Liana's mother smiled as they all sat around the dining table and Colton came by serving them all their meals. Her mother and father began to eat but Liana just sat there poking it with her fork thinking of poor Sapphire. "Liana dear, please don't play with your food!".
"Sorry mother".
"We have a guest coming around, so use your manners dear".
"A guest? Who?". She was cut off by the ring of the doorbell and her father stood up
"I shall answer"
"Thank you honey"
she nodded as he left the table and Liana continued poking her food
"Liana! How many times must I tell you!!"
"Leave me the hell alone Mum!!" She gritted her teeth throwing her fork down. "Liana!! How dare you?!"
"Happy New Year's mum," she scoffed as she got up from the table and went to open the door to the stables when a voice came from behind her
"My, my Liana don't be so rude to your poor mother". The voice was Scottish, from this Liana knew exactly who it was "Dear god oh!" She hurried around to see him standing there as Colton came and removed his coat before handing him a glass of wine.
"God! I'm sorry sir"
"Ah, don't mention it" he grinned as Liana's mother came and pulled out a seat for him
"Mr Mitchell, I do apologise sincerely!". "Ah no, It's fine" he smiled before looking over at Liana.
"Liana Michaude, I don't believe we've met before".
"No, I don't believe so sir". "Well it's Ross, Ross Mitchell".
Matt sat at his desk drawing object heads when a crash of lightning came down outside his window and it began to pour down with rain and so he walked over to the curtains and put his hands on the windowsill
"Damn it Saph, where are you?" he asked himself before shutting the blinds closed, he fell back onto his bed looking up at the ceiling blankly "What the actual heck just happened" he asked himself. Matt sat up on his bed where he took notice of the photo frames he had on his desk with him, Liana and Sapphire in from that time they all went walking in the forest near the school and then another beside it with them and Donn at the beach. Matt smiled at them, yet considered if things could ever be the same again. His phone then lit up as he received a text from Liana and so grabbed his phone to see what it said.
From: Lian
Hey Matt, can we talk?
Meet at the park 1 hour
"Pleasure to meet you sir" Liana forced a smile and Ross grinned
"Ah, well the pleasure is all mine," Liana nodded with another forced smile before taking a seat back at the table with her mother glaring her down and that smile quickly turned to a frown. Liana felt her phone go off in her pocket and she began reading the text. From: Matt 'Hey Liana, can we talk? I just---'. But she stopped as Ross brought up
"Oh, my condolences. I've heard about your friend Evan, terrible thing".
"What's this now?" Liana's mother interrupted but nobody answered her. "Thank you sir".
"Kid deserved better, you know". "I agree completely". Liana hated having people around for dinner because she was forced to speak more formally. Liana then felt her phone buzz again in her pocket and so she peeked at it. From: Matt 'Meet at the park 1 hour'. Her parents were distracted so she pulled her phone out her phone to see the whole conversation.
From Matt:
Hey Lian, can we talk?
Meet at the park 1 hour
'What on earth could he want' she asked herself before replying with 'It's 1am Matt! I can't'. She placed the phone back in her pocket and looked back up to her parents as Ross looked around the house and at the chandeliers "Lovely place you have" he complimented with a smile and Liana's mother nodded with a fake smile "We do our best". Suddenly Liana's phone buzzed again and 'From Matt: Its important'. Liana began to get a little worried 'what's wrong?' she replied before Colton came by and placed a side of garlic bread beside her. "So, Liana, how's the academy these days". "Oh yes sir, they are, well I'm making it through". "Are you now?". "Well.... Well yes". "Say things are going to get a whole lot worse soon". Liana looked at him in confusion as he glared on at her and Liana's mother looked at him as sweat began to run down her forehead. "I'm kidding! No it's just exam season coming up am I right?" he laughed raising his eyebrows at Liana "Actually, in 2 months". "Liana! I won't have any of that cheek in here" Liana's mother stuttered as she seemed to become even more afraid as she wiped the sweat from her forehead and Liana glanced at her funny, what on earth was wrong? Liana's phone then buzzed again in her pocket and so she looked back up "Do excuse me, I must use the bathroom". "Come on Liana, go later" her mother asked but Ross interrupted again with his mouthful "No, no, let her go" he smiled and Liana smiled to him as she stepped up the first stair of her marble staircase. "Friend in need" Ross laughed which made Liana a little suspicious. She arrived at the bathroom and shut the door behind her and locked it before pulling out her phone to see the entire conversation, the new text read 'Me and Donn are waiting, be there'. Liana rubbed her eyes, this was nothing like Matt. 'Matt, what's wrong? This isn't like you' she replied.
'Nothing Matt, I'm fine really, just kind of down after what happened at the ball' Liana's reply read. 'You and me both' he replied. This didn't seem like Liana which got Matt suspicious, Liana was always kind of jolly, yet after the ball he could understand it. 'Matt come on, it's important'. 'Lian, just tell me what's wrong!'. 'I can't, it has to be in private'. 'Lian'. 'Me and Donn are on the way, see you there'. 'Liana what's wrong?'. He awaited a reply but none came, he swiped through his contacts and called Liana. "Come on Lian" he pleaded to himself before her voicemail came "Damnit Liana! call me back" he chucked the phone onto his bed and leant onto the windowsill looking out at the grey skies as it was chucking down with rain outside.
'Fine, I'll be there'. 'good, We'll see you there :)' Liana placed the phone back in her pocket and pressed the flush to make it seem that she hadn't spent that whole time texting and she opened the door to the unsuspecting sight of Colton standing there with his finger over his mouth gesturing her to be quiet before pushing her back into the bathroom. "Colton! what's the deal". "The hell are you doing?". "What?". "You can't just leave!! Bloody Ross Mitchell is sitting at the table downstairs". "Matt and Donn need me, and anyways how did you---". "Not important!". "I think it is". "Damnit Liana, just--". "I'm going, and I could do with your help" she smiled raising her eyebrows as Colton looked at her with a 'really' kind of look. "You are kidding!!". "Oh, I couldn't be more serious!!". "God's sake" he groaned leaning his head in his hands "Right! Fine! What do you need?". Liana proceeded down the staircase and took her place down at the table as Colton proceeded to the door to get her coat and shoes ready. "Now, I guess I should be straight with you... Not really on a house visit". "Is that so?" Liana smirked before her mother slammed her fork down "Liana I---". "Christ woman!!" Ross again interrupted but this time generally frustrated "Your daughter is a smart girl, doesn't need you harassing her every damned waking hour". "I.... I'm sorry" she apologised with tears running down her eyes "Mum, what's wrong??". "I'm sorry sir". Liana became very confused as Ross stood up at his seat and both her parents began to look very worried "Anyways, I'm more so here on business". "Mum?". "Ignore her Liana, she can't keep her head on straight". "Hmm, beginning to question your so-called business". "Li..... Liana my dear..... don't--" her mother pleaded through her tears and Liana looked at Ross as Colton ran in "Is everything okay ma'am??". Ross reached the window behind the head of the table and looked out at the pouring down rain outside, Liana felt her phone buzz again yet didn't answer it due to the current situation. "You ever been told how you got your fortune ey Liana??". "Well yes". "What is it then? What did this bitch tell you??". Liana looked over to her mother who was in tears as Colton and her father came to see what was wrong. "Hey!! I don't believe that's appropriate language towards my mother!!!". "Oh for Heaven's sake Liana cut the act!! See Liana, me and you are the same". "You think so hmm". "Yes, privileged people who don't want what they have". "You?". "No, I don't..... My father never had time for me.... Nor my mother....... You'd understand that" he gritted his teeth towards Liana's mother as Liana stood up "What the hell do yo----" but she stopped as Ross pulled a gun from his coat pocket and pointed it to her "Please, sit.... All of you..... Have your butler get us some cake, I do believe It's time for dessert" he grinned and a silver tooth in his mouth glistened under the chandelier light. "The hell do you want?" Liana asked with a stern face as she sat back down. "Sorry, were you on your way out??". "I'm sorry?". "You were just on your way out to see your friends am I right". "You can't---". "Oh I can know, You were only sent the messages because I wanted you to know the danger your friends are in right now". "What the hell have you done?". "Come on, sit down and we'll talk about it..." he grinned again as he took a seat at the head of the table putting his feet up on the side "Oh, almost forgot" he laughed raising a glass "Happy New Year's".
Donn stood in the park under the pouring down rain waiting for his friends. 'Where the hell are you??' he texted to Matt as he looked around the park pulling his hood further over to protect him from the rain. His phone then buzzed in his pocket so he pulled it out and wiped the rain away from the screen. 'From Matt: Right here looser' the text read "The hell?" he asked himself before a familiar voice came from behind him "Right here, Old Friend.... I was hoping freak would turn up too but hey....". Donn looked on in horror at the boy sitting on the bench as he pulled his hood down "I can't wait". "Chris!!! But..... how?!".
