Matt felt almost guilty for not answering Sapphire and Liana. They were his best friends, and he just straight up ignored them like a little brat.
Matt looked at his clock and jumped. '8:30.' Crap! He had forgotten about the fact that they were meeting Liana in the park! He crawled out of his bed and turned off his video game quickly, running into Sapphire's room.
"Saph! Saph! Why the heck did you say goodnight to me?" He yelled, slamming the door open, only to see Sapphire getting changed.
Matt screamed like a little girl and shut the door, as Sapphire had a go at Matt for walking in on her.
Many footsteps and shuffles were heard from the room, and the door was eventually opened. A very grumpy looking Sapphire stood underneath the doorframe.
"Knock." She said simply, looking to one side. "I was just getting ready for bed, my gosh."
Matt shook his head and explained to her that their friends were meeting in the park. At this, she pushed him out the room and got dressed back into her normal clothes, slamming the door behind her and running down the stairs in a hurry with Matt. It was only 8:30, but normally Matt liked to be early. For where they were going now, they were going to be at least 5 minutes late.

He called goodbye to Sapphire's parents, as they noted to be back before 'bed time'. Bed time? Ha, what's bedtime?! Matt couldn't help but snort as he heard this, but shut the front door and ignored it, walking with Sapphire.
"What time did you tell Liana to meet us at the park?" He asked, looking at Sapphire straight in the eye as they walked side by side on the pavement.
"Eight" she said. Matt puffed out his cheeks, nodding slowly. He decided not to tell her that he wanted them to meet at 8:30. Suddenly, his walk broke into a run, and his shabby little bag bobbed up and down as he ran as fast as he could towards the park. Again, Matt hated being late, and even though he could hear Sapphire panting and wheezing from exhaustion behind him, he continued anyway.

Finally, they reached the park. Two figures sat on two swings next to each other; they seemed to be talking.
But, why were there two figures? Matt raised an eyebrow in confusion, opening the gate to the park, the sudden realisation hitting him.
The other figure was Donn.
What was he doing here?
Matt paused in his tracks and took a look that lasted a split second at the boy, only to continue walking again and try to act natural. He shut the gate behind him as the two of them started walking towards him. Matt smiled his usual goofy smile as they approached.
"Hi Matt!" Liana yelled, waving. She seemed happy to see him up and smiling again. It made him feel better, knowing that she and his friends cared about him a lot. Matt still wanted to hit himself in the head for acting strange earlier that day.
"Yo." Donn said simply. Matt inhaled loudly as the words left Donn's lips.
"Hi!" He said, pointing behind him to an extremely tired Sapphire walking through the park gate sloppily. "Sapphire's back there. We legged it here, Uhm... Sorry we're late" he exhaled a laugh. Sapphire walked up to them, waving without saying anything. The conversation went awkward, until Sapphire broke the silence.
"Hey, so, what shall we do?" She asked, smiling. Matt suddenly jumped back into life.
"Ah! we can make a fire to warm ourselves up, and play spin the bottle?" He suggested in reply, smiling goofily. Everyone nodded in agreement, and Matt's smile grew wider. "Shall we play the original spin the bottle, with the kissing thing?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows and breaking out into laughter. Liana shook her head, with a blank expression.
"Not now." She stated. "We don't know Donn well enough yet."
Matt couldn't help but agree, and said nothing, pulling an empty water bottle out of the side of his bag.
"Well, let's go!" He yelled, laughing and sitting on the cold, concrete floor. The three of them followed him, sitting down in a circle. Matt pulled his knees up to his chest and leaned forward with his feet, putting his hand on the bottle and opening his mouth to say something. Before he could, Liana interrupted.
"Matt... Sorry to ask, but what really happened with you and Chris today?" She asked, obviously figuring that it was the correct time to ask.
Matt sighed, running a hand through his curly brown hair.
"Well.." He started. The two girls seemed to lean forward in interest, while Donn just rested his cheek on his hand and listened casually.
"It was in Geography class today. It's kind of stupid, but Chris took the seat I normally sat in, probably just to annoy me, and the only seat left was a seat next to Jack. You know how I feel about Jack." He explained, his finger tapping the floor violently as he spoke. "I tapped Chris' shoulder and asked him to move, and he insisted on not moving, and said something... rude. Something rude, about my family. I nudged him slightly, to try and push him out the seat, and he stuck a hand in my hair, grabbing it and pulling me towards a wall with it. He said that he wouldn't have minded killing me where I was, but there was a teacher in the class. I'm sure he didn't mean the thing about killing me, so I punched him across the face and scrambled out the classroom with my bag. I'm not sure if the teacher noticed, but she probably did." He explained quickly, sighing when he finished. "I'm sorry for not talking to you earlier. I feel stupid for doing that." Matt laughed awkwardly, but his laugh was paused by Liana putting a hand on his shoulder
"Chris won't beat you up unless you annoy him tomorrow." She said, letting go and nodding. Donn chimed in.
"Liana's right." He said. "Matt, Chris is barely that strong. If you tell yourself he's strong, then you have no chance. If you feel that you can stand up to him, he's like a little bug to be squished on."
Donn smiled, running his hand through his hair.
"Most of my friends call you a brat, but I swear dude, I'll change that for you." He winked.
Matt looked down, smiling and patting Donn on the shoulder.
"Thanks, man." He said.
Matt was started to get used to... This hottie being around them, now. He felt that someone like Donn could be a bodyguard for the group; as well as an awesome friend.
Sapphire coughed, pointing at the plastic bottle.
"Well?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Matt clicked back into place and spun the bottle. As he did so, he asked a question.
"Uhm... Who here... Is going to get married first?" He asked.
The bottle spun for a few seconds, only to stop on Liana. All four of them squealed and giggled, and Donn reached for the bottle with a huge grin across his face.
"Who will she get married with?" He asked, spinning it. It slowly but surely landed between Sapphire and Matt, and all of them laughed.
"Liana, will you be getting married to both of us?" Sapphire asked, chuckling. Liana simply exhaled a laugh and reached for the bottle.
"Okay so let's change it, we have don't the question one too much" Liana said. "The next two people it lands on, they have to hug. Simple! We will... Take it up a notch later, though" she explained, with a slight grin as she ended the sentence. Liana spun the bottle, and it landed on Donn. She spun the bottle again.
Please let it be me
Please let it be me!
Matt begged to himself, frowning as it landed on Liana herself. Sapphire cupped her hands around her mouth and made the 'ooooo!' Sound that people normally do. The two of them hugged, but it was more of an awkward hug. Gosh, Liana was picky with her boys.
Liana spun the bottle, and it landed on Matt.
Finally! Matt loved hugs. They were like treats that made him feel better all the time. He looked over at Sapphire, who seemed disappointed that the bottle hadn't landed on her yet. Shaking it off, he stood up and hugged her tightly for a few seconds. Matt liked to make the most out of hugs, for they were so comfy and nice. Poor Liana seemed to want to squirm out of the hug, but Matt held on.
Eventually he let go, smiling and spinning the bottle.
Please land on Donn
Please land on Donn!
It landed on Matt. He laughed and spun it again.
The bottle slowed down, stopping only just on Donn. Matt was having an internal party. He hug tackled Donn before Donn could even get up, making them fall over. Matt giggled childishly, apologising as Donn complained about his head hurting.
"Sorry man! I just love hugs." He explained, shrugging and letting go, standing up and dusting himself off. Donn shrugged.
"It's alright" he laughed and scruffled up Matt's hair.

After many times of playing spin the bottle like little children, ( yes, Sapphire did get a few hugs ) they decided it was time to go home, for it was getting dark.
Matt stretched, picking up the bottle and smiling warmly at Donn and Liana.
"See you tomorrow!" He yelled along with Sapphire, walking out of the gate and towards Sapphire's house. As Matt was walking, he seemed to see Liana insisting on waiting for Donn to leave before she walked home.
Suspicious!
Matt joked to himself, laughing through a scoff and looking down at the pavement, then back up at Sapphire. The wind breezed slightly, blowing his curly hair into his face. Sapphire's hair flowed gracefully in the wind like it was silk. In a way, Matt was jealous. He wanted fine, straight hair like hers. It would look so cool when it blew in the wind. To Matt, it just got into his mouth.

They arrived at home and greeted Sapphire's parents, before running up the stairs and into their rooms. Matt jumped onto his bed, putting on a white shirt with blue shorts on. He had brushed his teeth before they left for the park, so he wasn't bothered to do it again.
The pink light of Sapphire's room was flicked off, just as Matt turned his video game on.
Ah, some quality time with his DS.
