Donn groaned as he woke up to his alarm blaring. He counted down from three in his head. 3, 2, 1...
"Donnie! It's time for school!" Luke called from downstairs. You could pretty much hear the smirk in his voice.
"You're not funny!" The young sibling yelled back. He rolled over, slamming a hand down on he alarm as he got up to get ready for another day of school.
After getting dressed, Donn ran downstairs to see his brother already eating breakfast.
"How long are you staying for?" The turquoise haired boy asked as he filled a bowl with cereal and milk.
"I'm going back to uni next Wednesday, so seven days including today" the older boy answered.
"Why did you have to go to university so far away?" Donn whined as he sat down and began to eat.
"SVA is the only half decent school around here. Golden Hills University was the closest one I could find" his brother replied with a sigh. They finished their breakfast in silence and Donn gave his bowl to Luke so the older sibling could tidy up. The younger brother ran upstairs to grab his bag, stuffed his P.E. Kit into it before running back down the stairs and out the door.
"Have fun Donnie!" His brother yelled after him in a fake voice as he ran out the door.
"Screw you!" Donn yelled back before shutting the door and walking to the bus stop.
On time for once, yay! The ex-popular kid thought as he made his way to tutor class. He walked in as the bell rang and took a seat next to Liana and Sapphire. Liana was sat with a bored expression on her face, clicking her pen constantly... whereas Sapphire was busy texting someone.
"Who's she talking to?" Donn asked as he sat down next to Liana.
"I don't know, she won't tell me" Liana looked at her friend with something close to an annoyed expression.
"And where's Matt?" The turquoise looked around for the smaller boy.
"He went to see his parents..." the brown haired girl answered hesitantly.
"Sensitive subject?" Donn asked. Liana nodded. Despite Donn not knowing much about Matt, he seemed like an over emotional person.
"Yeah, all I'm going to say is that they were so horrible!" Liana shook her head, trying to rid the memory of Matt's horrible parents from her mind. When the bell rang, Sapphire and Liana spoke whilst Donn followed behind them to their first lesson: P.E.
The teacher walked around, pairing everyone up. Sapphire got partnered with a boy named Evan while Donn got partnered with Liana.
"Today we'll be doing javelin throws! Grab a Javelin each and find a space along this line with your partner. I will be expecting good results from this group, so no slacking off!" The P.E. Teacher, Mrs. Owen, instructed. Donn took Liana over to the javelins, and picked out a lightweight one.
"What's the difference between your one and my one?" Liana asked, weighing out the sharp metal stick in her hand.
"Yours is lighter because you have less strength in your arms and it will be easier to throw" Donn explained. He guided her over to an empty space along the line and watched as she tried to throw the javelin. It clattered to the floor a couple of feet in front of her. The taller boy shook his head and walked over as she returned to her position with the javelin in hand. She prepared to throw again when Donn stopped her.
"You need to turn your body to the side like this..." Donn stood behind the shorter girl and put a hand on her side and her shoulder, turning her body so she was side on from the line. Luckily he was behind her, so he couldn't see the huge blush that had made its way onto Liana's face. "Then you pull your arm back like this..." Donn carefully placed a hand on both of her arms, positioning it so the one holding the javelin was pretty much on a horizontal line. "Aim with this one" he moved the arm closer to the line so it was pointing to where she wanted the javelin to go. "Now wrap your fingers around the javelin like this" Donn's face heated up as he realised how close he actually was to Liana as he put his hand on hers and positioned her fingers so they were in the place where she could get the best throw. "Now throw it, but bring your elbow through first, like this" he stepped away from the brown haired girl and picked up his own javelin. After a couple seconds preparation, he threw the javelin and it landed fifteen to twenty meters away. He turned to face Liana, and she threw her javelin, mimicking the way he had thrown the large pole. It went almost as far as Donn's. "Not bad" he praised, looking at Liana, who still had a pink face. It was obvious she was crushing on Matt, but Donn couldn't help but sneer.
"Thanks. You're pretty good too" she replied. The pair walked over to go and get the javelins.
"Do you do this sort of stuff a lot?" The brown haired girl asked.
"Kinda. The only time I can practice with a proper javelin is when we do it in P.E." Donn replied.
"You're really good at it" she commented as the pair leaned down to pick up the javelins.
"You're good too. You threw it almost as far as me, just don't flick your wrist and you'll be gold" the tall teen complimented.
"I don't know how and I don't particularly think Mrs. Owen will give me private lessons" Liana laughed.
"I could teach you. If you ever want to try some extra javelin, just ask." He said with a smile. Liana looked at him happily.
"That'd be cool. Maybe sometime soon, I just don't know when" she said.
"Whenever you want. Now try again, and try not to flick your wrist" the turquoise haired boy instructed as they both walked back to the line.
After P.E., Donn hung out with Sapphire and Liana at break. They joked around a bit, ignored the popular a giving them dirty looks before heading off to their next lesson. By lunchtime, the three of them were fairly decent friends. Although Sapphire was talking with Evan more than Liana or Donn, so it ended up just being Liana and Donn talking and joking. It seemed quieter without Matt. He seemed to be the spirit and bright side of the group. Despite being less intelligent than the trio, he always looked on the good side of things about his and their intelligence. He tended to think more for others than himself... Donn understood if he needed a small day off because of personal issues. Matt deserved it, and the three of them liked him enough to know that he deserved what he needed.
As the trio walked out of their last class, Sapphire drifted off to talk to Evan again.
"Sapphire definitely likes Evan" Donn muttered to Liana.
"Definitely. She's been following him around and talking to him all day" Liana agreed as the got on the bus behind Sapphire and Evan.
"I bet you they'll sit together" Donn said.
"You're right, what a surprise!" Liana exclaimed sarcastically before laughing a little. The pair sat down together and did what they had been doing all day: talking and joking. Donn shook his head as he got off the bus. Liana got off a few stops after the turquoise haired boy. He walked in through the front door of the house.
"Honey I'm home!" He yelled jokingly.
"Thank the Lord! I've been ever so lonely!" His brother's sarcastic yell came back. Dumping his bag in the hall, Donn walked through to the living room, where his brother was curled up on the sofa with a blanket, a box of tissues and a bowl of ice cream.
"What's up with you?" Donn asked as his brother groaned.
"I've got a cold..." His brother muttered.
"You've got a cold, so you eat ice cream?" Donn gave his brother a look.
"Tori said it helps to just give up and curl up with a blanket, some tissues and ice cream and just complain." His brother defended himself.
"Tori?" Donn sat down and turned the tv on.
"Girl in uni." Luke replied quickly. Donn smirked.
"Mhm... Who got you sick anyway?" Donn looked at his brother again.
"Colton! The idiot gets so damn clingy when he's ill, so he kept hugging me!" Donn's "older" brother whined.
"Your entire squad is a group of children sometimes you know" Donn said, shaking his head and looking back to the tv.
"Whatever, so's yours. That Matt kid reminds me of you when you were a toddler."
Luke grumbled as the two boys watched the tv. Donn broke the short silence.
"Hey, don't talk about my best friend like that."
A/N Ayyyyy guess who's back! I've been MIA for the last several months xD so how do you like this chapter? Good? Not good? It's a real filler!
