// Liana's POV \\

*earlier*

Liana quickly glanced in the large mirror before school. Her middle length, glossy brown hair flowed down the back of her purple hoodie. She always tried to wear her cheapest clothes because she didn't want Matt, Sapphire or anyone to find out. No makeup was on her face and her hair was self cut and messy. Liana couldn't convince her parents to allow her to wear cheap shoes so she had scribbled out the designer label with blue marker pen. A knocking sound erupted from her bedroom door.
"Liana dear? It's time to go!" Her mother called.
"Okay, be right there" She mumbled back. She turned from the mirror and gazed around her room. It had crystal white walls with a solid oak wood floor. A glass chandelier hung from the ceiling over her expensive double bed. Photos of her and her horse, Chance, lined the walls and golden trophies and medals rested on the fancy shelves. A large, flat screen TV was on one wall with shelves of video games and films. Liana wished that she could invite friends over, especially Matt, to play the tons of video games she had. Unfortunately, she liked to keep all this as a secret. A desk sat below the clear window that had the latest IMac and other top tech. Basically, if you hadn't guessed yet, Liana was incredibly rich... and she HATED it. Well, maybe she didn't hate it but it made her feel like she was different to everyone else when she wasn't really. Most people would love to have everything they could ever want but Liana wanted to work for the things she wanted. Her parents never had time for her and she always felt alone in the huge mansion. She could be less lonely if she could invite friends over but once again, she would never do that. If they ever found out, would they treat her differently? If other people in school found out, would they try to make friends with her for the money? She didn't want fake friends or the rich lifestyle. Her parents wanted her to model and wear the latest fashion and have the best hair style. It took a lot of convincing to finally get her parents to allow her to go to a public school. And yet, they still chose an academy rather than a normal school.

She grabbed her designer bag and headed down the marble stairs and into the lobby. Her mother stood at the bottom of the stairs with their... butler? Helper? Friend? Liana didn't really know.
"Sweety? We have talked about this, please stop wearing.... such clothing" Her mother frowned at her. Liana's mother was a stunning model ( who thankfully looked nothing like her ) and was dressed in a silver, flashy dress.
"Sorry Mother, the...um... school asked me to dress like this" She lied.
"Well, I'll be keeping an eye on that school. Hurry off now" She said, basically shooing her off. Liana sighed and headed out into the cold air and into the black limousine. Colton, the butler friend guy, got into the front and turned the engine on, taking them down the private lane and onto the road.

Liana picked up her school bag, undid her seatbelt and was about to open the door before Colton spoke.
"Liana? Are you sure you don't want me to drive you to school? It seems abit stupid to take you to a bus stop when the school is ten minutes away..." He frowned.
"It's fine. The bus is here so I'll go now. Bye!" She called as she stepped out of the car. She closed the door and hopped onto the silver bus and went straight to the back seats. She sat alone in the corner of the empty bus as it set off. Liana loved the fact that she was the only one who got on at that stop and the first on too. It meant that no one would see the limo. Liana knew she was being ungrateful but she didnt want the fame and the stress of it.

Liana sneakily looked under the seat and spotted her other bag. Unlike her designer bag, it was cheap, scruffy and old. Her parents didn't know about this bag and her friends didn't know about the posh one. She began her daily routine of swapping all her stuff from the designer bag and into the scruffy light blue one. In a way, Liana liked Matt's style; Scruffy and messed up, but cute. She then stuffed the designer one under the seat where it would stay until the end of the day. Liana relaxed now and waited whilst the bus slowly filled up as they reached the final stop. This was where Sapphire got on and today, for the first time, Matt would too.
"Hey guys!!" She called as her friends entered the bus. She had known Sapphire for three years now and they had always been best friends
Matt joined the group a year ago and things had been good. They were her closest friends but still they didn't know the real her....
"Hey Liana!" Sapphire replied, taking one seat beside her. Matt took the other side.
"Morning Lian" Matt smiled with his goofy grin. The bus set off again and headed towards school.
"So, how was the first night being house mates?" She smirked. Liana would admit she was a little jealous. Not because Matt was living with Sapphire now, but because those two would become better friends and she would slowly become the third wheel. No you won't. Stop thinking like that she scolded herself.
"Okay I guess" Sapphire awkwardly replied. Liana decided to talk to her about it in first lesson, where Matt would be in a different class.

"Good morning class. I would like to introduce you to our new student" Miss Ozanne smiled. She was Liana's slightly crazy, slightly terrifying English teacher who everyone thought was secretly a witch. Liana didn't really believe in witches but if they were real, Miss Ozanne would be one.
"This is Donn. Donn Caballero" She added. In front of her stood a tall boy with bright turquoise hair styled in a quiff. He wore a grey Nike jumper with jeans and he seemed quite confident for a new student...
"Hey Donn! You never said you'd be coming here!" Someone from the back shouted.
"Yeah! What's up?" Someone else asked. A smile spread across the boys face as he awkwardly waved back.
"Hey guys" He laughed. Liana wished it has been like that when she had joined the school. He seemed to know everyone already.
"There is only one spare seat in the class and that is by the girls over there" Miss Ozanne explained. She pointed over to an empty seat which happened to be.... right next to Liana.
