"I don't want him anywhere near you, our baby, or this house again. I'll put a restraining order on his ass if I have to." Killian shouted as he walked into the house.
"Don't you think you are over reacting just a little bit?" Emma asked.
Killian turned around and faced her. "Why are you defending him?"
"I'm not! He hasn't shown up or even called since that one time he called five months ago!"
He sighed. "I know. I guess I'm just scared of losing you. I'm sorry."
"It's alright." She grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze.
He looked up at her and gave her a hopeful smile. "Would you like to go out on a date with me?"
She looked down at her stomach. "While I'm this pregnant?"
He chuckled and placed both of his hands on the sides of her stomach and smiled as he felt the baby kick one of them. He had felt the baby move and kick a million times, but it was a feeling he couldn't get used to, and he loved it. "Absolutely."
She leaned up and pressed a sweet kiss to his lips. "Okay."
"However, there is a but."
"And that is?"
"We have to stop at the boat company. You don't have to come along if you don't want to. You can stay in the hotel room. Or I can go and you stay here, then once I get back in a week, we'll go out on that date."
"No!" She quickly responded. Once she realized she had yelled, she repeated, "No. I-I don't want to be alone."
"Then I guess we have some packing to do. We leave tomorrow."
The next day...
Killian carried Emma's suitcase out to the car, and packed them into the trunk. He then went back up to the house and helped her down the steps. She wanted to scream because she needed his help. She liked to do things by herself, but it was also comforting to know that he was there for her.
They drove on the highway in a comfortable silence. After a few hours, Killian pulled up to the hotel and got the bags out while Emma checked them in. As soon as she sat down on the bed, he came into the room.
"Alright, love. I have to go, but I'll be back in a few hours, okay?" He said.
She groaned. "Alright, but only because you have to."
"I know. I'd rather stay here with you, but I just have to go and do this. You sleep, and I'll be back with food." She nodded and laid down on the pillows. He brushed her hair away from her face and kissed her temple. "I'll be back as soon as I can."
Emma fell into a deep and dreamless sleep, as soon as her head hit the pillows.
Killian went to the docks and saw all of the ships in the water. He walked into the building and a group of guys were sitting at a table playing a card game. Chips were in the middle of the table, and the smell of cigars filled the room. He hid behind a stack of rowboats and watched them.
"I wonder why the boss hasn't come in lately." One of the men said in a deep voice. "I expected him to have at least come in for a few days a few months back."
"It's his new little girlfriend. I heard from Neal that she is pregnant." Another said as he threw two chips into the pile. "Don't worry about why he isn't here. Just be glad he ain't. That's less work we have to do, and we still get paid the right amount of money."
Killian stepped into the light and cleared his throat. "Oh really?" All of the guys turned their heads, and feared expressions fell onto their faces. "Just because I'm not here, doesn't mean that I don't know what you've all done or didn't do for that matter."
"M-Mr. Jones." One of the men said nervously. "W-what are you doing here?"
"Came to see how the business is doing and to check up on my employees, who don't seem to be doing their jobs!" Killian yelled. "One more slip up from all of ya, and I'll fire your sorry arses. Now get back to work!"
All of the men scrambled out to the dock and Killian walked into his office. He sat behind the desk and pulled out an old bottle of rum. He twisted the cap off and looked at the pictures on his desk. One of the picture frames was with him and Liam when they first opened the company. The other was a picture of him and Milah. Smiles on both of their faces. He tightened his grip on the picture with him and Milah, and placed it back on the desk. He took his wallet out of his pocket and took the picture of him and Emma out. Killian then removed the picture of him and Milah and placed it on the desk, and put Emma's picture in the frame. He smiled at it. He remembered that day as if it were yesterday.
It was a few days after their third visit to the doctor's, when Emma wanted ice cream. They went to a little ice cream shop in Storybrooke called Any Given Sundae and they both got rocky road ice cream. He took a picture of her eating her ice cream, when the flash caught her off guard. She glanced up at him and he had his phone out and a smile on his face.
"Say cheese, love!" He said and took another picture.
She laughed grabbed the phone from him. She placed her lips on his cheek and took another picture.
Killian had printed it out without her knowing, and put it in his wallet. Now, it was sitting on his desk in a picture frame that once held a picture of Milah.
"That's more like it, isn't it?" He asked himself and took another swig of the rum.
I am so so sorry I didn't update yesterday, you guys! I have a big idea for the next chapter, and I didn't want to put it in this one because the idea is a chapter all on its own. So, I actually ran out of drafts and I had writers block for the rest of this one, but I'm going to be working on more now.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
