Emma fell onto the bed as Killian went into the living room. He ran his hands through his hair. Why was he upset? He literally just mentioned having a family a few minutes ago!
"Get a grip, Jones!" He told himself. "You're being ridiculous." He paced the living room, lost in thought.
'She's probably in there crying her eyes out because of you, you bloody arse! You need to go in there and tell her how you feel.'
Emma hugged her pillow, but she couldn't cry. Killian was never going to be able to leave her if she left him first. She grabbed her suitcase and put the rest of her clothes in it, and grabbed some money she knew that he kept in the drawer of the nightstand. She threw it in the suitcase just as the door opened.
"Swan, what are you doing?" He asked when he saw her packing her stuff.
"I have to go."
"You aren't going to leave me."
"And who is going to stop me? You? Cause I recall you saying that I could leave."
"What brought this on?"
"I get it, I really do. That family shit you talked about obviously wasn't true. You don't want kids."
"Yes I do. Emma, I'm thrilled we are having a child!"
She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "Really?" She asked, still not believing him.
He knelt down to her and grabbed her hands. "Yes. I love you so much."
"So, you aren't going to leave me?"
"Absolutely not. Swan, I'm not going anywhere."
She wrapped her arms around his neck when he stood up. "I'm sorry. I guess I just thought you would. Everyone has always left me and I didn't want you to leave either. I'm sorry I was so distant and kept pushing you away."
"I told you, love," He began as he picked her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist, letting out a small giggle of surprise as he did so. "That you will never be alone again. I've always wanted a baby, and now I get to have one with you."
"Are you sure you're okay with this?"
"Yes. I'm absolutely positive."
"Good." Emma said and then crashed her lips to his.
"We have to get an appointment made." Killian said once they pulled away for air, and he let her down.
"We have to settle down first. Where do you want to go now?"
"We could always go and live where my friends live. Neal mentioned them. Mary Margaret and David Nolan."
"And where do they live?"
"Maine, in a sleepy little town called Storybrooke."
"It sounds perfect."
"Aye, it is. They seem to go on and on about it, so I thought we could end up there as well."
"Then let's go in the morning."
"You sure you're okay with this?"
"Yea, I'm fine." She placed a hand on her stomach. "Are you sure that this is what you want?"
"Yes. I'm absolutely positive. I'll pick you up a pregnancy test tomorrow." She nodded. "Emma, I need you." He said, suddenly serious.
Emma furrowed her brows in confusion. "W-what?"
"I need you." Killian said. "I don't know what I'd do without you. I'd break. I'd fall apart. I don't want you mad at me, and I don't want you to think that I'm mad at you. It pains me to see you hurt. I just..." He sighed. "I just love you so much. I couldn't go on if you left me. It scared me to see you start to pack your things. It scares me that I will fuck up so badly, and then you will leave me for it. Please don't, okay?" He glanced up at her and she was crying. He stepped closer to her and wiped her tears away.
Instead of saying anything, she wrapped her arms around him and squeezed him tightly. He pulled back slightly and she kissed his lips sweetly, but with a lot of passion. She held onto him while he pushed himself against her, hoping that he was telling her that he truly had meant every word that he said.
When they finally broke for air, Emma's tears had dried. Killian smiled at her and brought her in for another hug.
"You have no idea how much that means to me." She whispered, barely being heard.
"You're right, I don't. But maybe some day you can tell me?"
She gave him a sad smile but nodded anyway. "Maybe."
"Good." He pecked her lips one last time and jumped into the bed, crawling under the covers. He patted the space and she gladly climbed in next to him, cuddling into his side. "Lay down and go to sleep, love." He whispered as he fell to the pillows.
Emma laid against his front and threaded their fingers together before drifting off into a deep, peaceful, and dreamless sleep.
She woke up again in the middle of the night, and found herself alone. Emma got out of bed and searched the hotel room, but it was empty. Her heart caught in her throat because Killian was gone. She grabbed her phone and called him, but the familiar ringing of his cell phone filled the hotel room. She hung up and tossed the phone onto the couch, before collapsing onto the floor, and crying her eyes out.
'He promised he wouldn't leave us.' She thought. Emma placed her hand over her stomach and more tears flooded her eyes, making her vision blurry. "You'll always have me." She whispered.
Emma sat on the floor in the living room for an hour. She was watching the door, hoping that it would open and Killian would walk through it, or wishing that she would wake up from what she hoped was a nightmare.
There was no note telling her where he had gone. Nothing.
It was absurd because he told her that he actually needed her. But, was it really a lie?
The love of her life was gone, and she didn't know if he would come back.
I'm back for real this time!!!! Enjoy the chapter and I'll have another one posted tomorrow.
