I just came out of my Biology class and it's lunch. For my first two classes, History and French, Mason was in my class.
It was exasperating. I walked into the cafeteria which was in the second building. Everyone sat by their friends at a certain table and I'm just here not knowing where to go.
Boy am I an outcast.
"Rose!" I heard the familiar voice of Mason. I spun around to see him on the other side of the cafeteria with a big group of boys and girls.
Man do I wish I could just dash over there, but everyone will suspect me.
Being in a school full of humans is tough. I forced myself to walk slowly towards Mason and his friends and sat between Mason and another girl.
"Hey." I gave a small wave to the group. They all mumbled 'heys' going back to their conversations.
"Get accustom to this Rose, this is the football team and the cheerleading squad." Mason told me. I nodded. Why does he have to be a football player? I mentally groaned.
"You're like really pale." the girl beside me said.
"Thanks." I smiled,I mean isn't a vampire suppose to be pale. She looked at me shocked that I took her 'insult' as a compliment.
Mason chuckled, "So where did you come from before you moved here?"
"Miami." I replied, taking a bite in my sandwich. "You're kidding right? Aren't you suppose to be like tanned?" the girl beside me asked.
I shrugged. "You should use some makeup, I mean not only for your pale skin but it might actually make you look pretty."
Cue 'oo's and chuckles'.
I rolled my eyes, folding my arms, "I hate makeup, plus I know to never use it now that I see how it makes people like you look." I smirked.
Cue 'oo's and chuckles'.
She stood up, me following her. "You're a littl-" "Amanda." Mason said in a threatening tone. "Yeah, well you're a-" "Rose." Mason repeated in the same tone.
But we ignored him, glaring at each other.
After about three minutes, Amanda scoffed, picking up her bag and left, the rest of the cheer squad following her.
I smirked in victory as I went back to my sandwich.
The football team clapped for me. "Finally they leave." one guy said. The others nodded. "No problem." I shrugged.
"Atleast you're not one of them." one said. " 'Oh Jessica how does my makeup look?' " one of the guys mocked. " 'Sofie does this ponytail make my head look big?' " another mocked. They continued mocking the girls.
" 'Ew how could you eat that burger it's so fattening.' "
" 'Salad dressing has so many calories.' "
They had me laughing for the entire lunch.
"So how was your first day of lunch?" I shrugged, "Cool. I like how they mocked the girls though. I would've done the same."
He chuckled. "You saved us from another terror."
"Why do you even stay with them?" I asked. "It's a thing. The footballers hang with the cheerleaders. The cheerleaders date the footballers."
"So you wouldn't date me?" I joked, raising an eyebrow.
He got quiet, but his smirk returned, "Unless you wanna date me Rose?" I scoffed, "Not in a million years."
~After School~
"So want a ride home?" Mason questioned. I shook my head, "I'm walking." More like dashing through the woods.
"Come on." Mason said, opening the door for the passenger side.
I mentally groaned, I wanted to stretch my legs. Nonetheless, I jumped inside and put on my seatbelt. Mason went to the driver's side and soon rode off.
