Chapter 22

Rose's POV:

"You're so conceited." I laughed at Ross' behaviour over his 'perfect' hair. 

"What? It is amazing isn't okay." he frowned. Still laughing, I said, " Right, okay, whatever makes you sleep at night."

"Hey guys!" said a somewhat excited Sofie. 

"Hey Sof." "Hi Sofie." The bell rang, I sighed, "I'll see you guys at lunch." I smiled and walked off. I walked into my Spanish class to see no teacher so I sat in my usual seat at the back of the class.

It was when Mason walked in the room I regretted my seat. 

He made his way to the back, sitting right beside me. "Hi Rose.?" he greeted. I did look his way but replied, "Scarlet." 

He sighed, "Are you gonna be mad at me forever?" he sighed. 

Slightly angered I responded, "Once you're dead I can live in peace." "Ouch, right in the heart." he said putting his hand on the right side of his chest. 

I gave a small smile, he said  this around the first time we met. 

But nonetheless, I shook the thought out of my head saying, "Then I hope the pain stays there." He frowned and was gonna reply when the teacher walked in the room. 

"Bueno dias, page 31. Come on." she told us, fixing her glasses. I took ou my book and couldn't help but feel staring intently at me. 

"Stop it!" I hissed. 

"Scarlet Rose!" Miss called, "Since you and Mason seem to not take interest in my class, get up and leave."

"But-" "Now!" 

I groaned in frustration, picking up my bag and books, marching out the room. As we were outside of the school since he followed me here, I yelled. 

"I can't believe you got me in trouble!"

"Technically you got us in trouble." he smirked. I growled, "Stop staring at me." "I can't helpit if you're beautiful." he smiled. 

I frowned, "That was the cheesiest thing I've ever heard."

He sughed, "Scarlet. No. Rose, I'm sorry." "Scarlet is just fine."  I replied stiffly. He held on to me, "Please listen to me!"

Tears came to my eyes. "Don't cry." he pleaded. 

"How much do you wanna hurt me? What did I do to you?" I cried, he still held my arms. "I'm so sorry Rose, I didn't mean to, I did at a time but I regret it."

"You don't know how much I love you Mason, my heart is in two because of you and I hate you for that but I still love you. Why do I still love you?" I continued to cry. 

"Ssh, please don't cry. It hurts me to see you cry." he touched my face gently, wiping off the tears.

"I hate you!" I repeated, pounding his chest but I soon became weak and was hitting his chest softly. 

He leaned in to kiss me but I pushed him off, "Leave me alone!" Go off to Lily." I cried, running off. 

As mad as I am, I think I run too much in this school. 

It's not good for my health. 

I meekly walked through the hallway. "Did you hear about Mason and Lily?" a girl asked her friend, I interrupted. 

"What happened?" 

The girl rolled her eyes, " He broke up with her." I gasped. "Shocker isn't it." she smirked and went back to talking with her friend. 

He broke up with her? Was it because of me? Did he break up with her for me?

I awed the thought that it could be true. 

He broke your heart! He doesn't deserve your forgiveness. He does't even deserve a quarter! 

But I still love him. 

Hey! I'm your conscience for a reason. I swear no one listens to their conscience these days. You got Ross and he's a vampire which is a plus.

I sighed, I don't know. Plus it looks like there could be something between Ross and Sofie. 

You kissed the guy!

That was just in the moment. 

So you're telling me you don't like him in any way?

I like Ross but I love Mason..I think. 

You gotta choose one...who will it be?

I groaned, I sat on a bench near my class for 2nd period. I put my face in my hands. This is too stressful, if dad was here, I'd probably never have a boy problem. 

Just Mason would be dead. 

Would I mind that? I mean him dying wouldn't affect me right? Plus even we were together, it wouldn't be for forever. He would die and leave me here alone.

But with Ross he's a vampire, we could live with each other for forever.

All the laughs and fun and he's always there when I need him except for now, he's in pain. "I felt like my presence was needed." Ross said. 

I smiled, "Why are't you in class?" "I could ask the same question." "Touche." 

"But really Rose." he sighed. I let out a breath and hugged him. He gently placed his hands around me, hugging me back 

Maybe Ross is the guy for me.
