Chapter 20

"Then he just walked away, not even letting me explain." I told Sofie, slamming my locker, leaving a small dent. 

She didn't speak, probably letting me rant. 

"I begged my mom to stay home but she refused. I could be the leader any day but  still have to be forced to go to school which I don't even need to go to!" 

"I don't know what to say." Sofie said. I groaned. 

"My first relationship lasted five minutes." She patted my back, "He'll come around. He'll see that he was a jerk and come chasing after you."

"Did you hear about Mason and Lily?" a girl asked her friend. "Yeah, they're so cute together!" her friend replied. 

Lily and who? What!

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked, fearing the response. "Didn't you hear? Mason and Lily are dating. They show that you don't have to imprint to like someone."

My heart broke and I drifted away from the girls. 

"Scarlet?" asked a worried Sofie, holding me. "He imprinted on me right. I don't get it." I was in tears. 

"Come outside." Sofie told me, carrying me outside. 

We went by a tree where I curled up and cried. Sofie soothingly, rubbing my back. He seemed so excited when I agreed to be his girlfriend but I've never dated. He wouldn't even listen to me, he dates a new girl the next day. Lily of all people!

I guess him imprinting on me really doesn't mean anything. I can't believe I fell for him. 

"Rose?" "What are you doing here?" I sniffed, wiping my tear stained face and looked at Ross. "New student, decided after you told me about doing over school, I should do it too. I have nothing better to do anyway." he gave a small smile. 

"That's great. Sorry you have to see me like this." I told him. "I'm assuming your ex Mason is with someone else." he said, shoving his hands in his pockets. 

I nodded, tears reappearing in my eyes. 

"Come on, don't cry over him. Come let's take a walk." he said quickly. "Um, I think you're Sofie? Mind if I borrow her for a bit?" 

Sofie shook her head, "Didn't catch your name." 

"I'm Ross." he gave a toothy grin. She chuckled, "Take her for as long as you want."  "Well let's go Rose." Ross said, giving me a hand. I accepted and he lifted me up, immediately wrapping me in a cold hug. 

"You're not the best at hugs." I laughed. He smiled.

"Wow. He is a jerk." Ross commented after I told him the story. 

"But I still like him." I muttered, "Everything is just so twisted!"

"It's hard, I get it. Especially since it's your first um hours of relationship.." he chuckled.

I frowned. "Sorry." he scratched the back of his head, "But I understand, my girlfriend and I just broke up earlier."

"Why?" "She's moving to Alaska." he sighed, "Wants a change in scenery." "Wow." "Yeah, but that's life. And I have a lot more years to live, so do you." he stated. 

I nodded, "Sucks." 

"Well, we should be getting back to school. I can't be late for my first day." "We're already late." I told him. "Dang, I always was." 

Sitting in English, I was bored as hell. "Can anyone list three themes in the story?" Miss asked. I sighed, soo boring. 

My eyes roamed around the class until they landed on Mason. 

I felt like smiling until I saw his hand around Lily. I looked away and focused on Ross. His blonde-brown hair in his face, the thinking face he wore while taking notes. 

Almost cute even. 

What am I saying? I can't like Ross. I'm not in the mood for a relationship which I apparently suck at. 

I swung the bracelet Mason gave me around my wrist. I miss him. 

Ross suddenly put on glasses. "Why the glasses? Vamps have perfect vision." I whispered to him. "I know but it's cool, and admit it, I look hot." he smirked. 

I rolled my eyes, "Right.." "Oh admit it, I saw you checking me out just now."

Before I could respond, Miss said, "Anything you'll like to share with the class Miss White?" I blushed heavily and shook my head, "Although I would like to add that one theme is isolation." and I sat down. 

She looked at me in shock. "Moving on." she continued. 

Ross and I snickered. "Good job." he low-fived me. "I know, I'm amazing." "Truly." There Mason sat,glaring heavily at Ross. Jealous much?

"There's Sofie." I told Ross as we walked in the cafeteria. 

"Hey." I greeted. "Hola. adding to that I totally bombed my Spanish test. Atleast I got my name and hola correct." 

I laughed and then heard laughter from Mason's table and Lily laid in Mason's arms. 

I soured and bit an apple. "So how was your-" I dropped my apple. "Rose?" Ross asked in concern. 

"Sofie turned around to see the sight. 

"Oh goodness." she said. I let out a shaky breath and ran out of the cafeteria. I ran into the woods to try and let it out. 

I can't believe he kissed Lily.
