"Tell me everything!" mom screamed as I entered the living room.
I looked out the window to see that Mason had already driven off before saying, "Tell you what? Nothing happened."
"Don't let me read me read your mind," she groaned, " I saw him kissing your cheek." she squealed.
I again blushed,"It was nothing." I told her, "Just a simple kiss on the cheek between friends."
"Right.." she mused. "Mhm, between friends ..sure." she mumbled sarcastically, "We'll see in about a month when you graduate from kissing on the cheek to-"
"Okay mom. Thanks for the unnecessary imagery." I stopped her.
She laughed, "You and I both know you were thinking about it. But please just tell me what happened."
I let out a sigh then told her the story of my day with Mason, what we talked about, besides him being a werewolf and stuff.
At the end, mom remarked, " You two would make the cutest couple."
I rolled my eyes, but kinda liked the idea. Mason and I as a couple. Might never happen but it sure is nice to think about.
"Yeah well that was my day. I should probably go upstairs and get some rest." I said, going to my room."
~Next Day~
Sofie and I were sitting in the library. We had a free period so I was taking down my notes that I missed from yesterday.
"So...they were some rumours going around that the reason Mason wasn't here yesterday is because he ditched school to hang out with you." Sofie stated, "Anything you want to clarify?"
I rolled my eyes, "Yes, he ditched school to hang out with me."
"Why?" Sofie questioned, intrigued. "He said that he would've missed me in school, that's all." I told her with a shrug.
"What?!" she exclaimed.
"Be quiet!" the librarian snapped at her. "Sorry." Sofie whispered. I chuckled softly. "You two are like a power couple." she squealed softly.
I scoffed, "That would never happen. The only way it would happen is if he imprinted on me and if I liked him." I replied.
She rolled her eyes, "You don't like Mason. Yeah right."
"I'm telling you. I don't like him." I lied through my teeth. She rolled her eyes, "Come on Scarlet, you like him."
"Hey guys." Mason greeted.
"Oh hey Mason." I squeaked. "Sure you don't like him." Sofie mumbled. "What're you doing?" he asked us.
"Scarlet's writing the notes she missed yesterday." Sofie told him.
"Oh I haven't even asked for mine." he stated. I nodded, continuing to write. "Rebellious aren't you?" Sofie eyed him.
"I suppose." he responded.
"I suppose that means yes." I smirked at him. He rolled his eyes. "Not nice to mock people Rose."
"Whatever."
"Wanna hang out?" he asked. "I'm writing my notes." I snapped. I actually didn't mean to though.
"Okay can I hang out with you guys then?" he again asked.
"I-" "Sure." Sofie interrupted my chance to neglect him. I huffed, elbowing her. "Cool." he said, sitting beside me.
I sighed and continued writing.
"So Mason excited to become the leader of the pack?" Sofie suddenly asked. I was intrigued but kept writing.
"Yeah, until next month I'm just the alpha's son." he gave a small smile.
He's gonna be a leader just like me which makes the situation of us being together far from ever happening. Leaders of each other's enemies.
Interesting and ironic.
The bell rang, time for last period. I packed up my stuff. Sofie and I had next period together. "See you at football practice Mason." I said, leaving the library with Sofie.
"Yeah, see you Rose." he whispered.
