"Well here's your schedule Scarlet." the secretary told me, handing me the rather small piece of paper.

"Thanks." I shot her a small smile. "Your history class is five doors down." she told me, shooing me off, "Now go, you're five minutes late."

I exited the office and rushed to class. Mason left me when we arrived at the office, he had to go to class. Obviously.

I arrived a the front of the door fifth door down from the office.

The handle was in my grasp. Waiting to be turned. I took a deep breath. Here I go. I pushed the door open to meet five rows of tanned teenagers talking to each other, listening to music, sleeping, or all at the same time.

I looked to find a seat in the front row. Nope.

Second row? ........................no.

Third row? ........................are you serious??

Fourth row?...................... okay this is exasperating.

All the rows were filled except the last row. To my dismay, it was beside Mason. What did I do to deserve this cruelty?!

I groaned, of all seat, I have to sit next to him.

Why does he have to be in this class? A smirk played on his lips when he realised that I had to sit next to him. The most annoying boy I've ever met!

~Flashback~

We were walking down the hallway of the first building. There are three buildings that make up this school!

"That's the library." he pointed at the door marked 'Library'. Way to state the obvious.

"This is the music room." he told me, I nodded. This is really boring. No offense to Mason though. I suddenly felt myself falling backwards and I waited for the impact of my body landing on the cold hard ground but to only be caught by Mason.

"Dad! I could sense something." I said eagerly, looking around. "Calm down Rose,I can tell you're excited, you're eyes are pink." He chuckled.

My eyes change colour for certain emotions, like when I'm normal, happy, sad, angry or jealous or stuff like that.

If I had mixed emotions, the color for each emotion would mix to make a new colour.

I heard movements. "Dad I can hear it. Can I go catch it?" I asked, literally jumping in excitement.

Dad looked at me, amusement clearly written on his face and nodded.

I squealed and dashed off, further into the woods, looking for my prey. I stopped abruptly, if was here.

I turned my attention towards the bushes to see red eyes staring at me.

"Rose!" Mason called, again bringing me back to the present. "Yeah?" He set me on my feet, watching me in confusion.

"I could have sworn earlier that your eyes were brown but now they're blue."

My eyes widened at his statement. That memory made me sad!

I walked past him, ignoring his previous comment. "Are you gonna continue with this tour or what?" I gave a small smile.

Mason immediately forgot the topic and continued with his tour.

I was humming to a song in my head while Mason was boring me to death showing me the school.

He suddenly stopped causing me to walk into him. "Oh miss hummingbird, it's rude to ignore your tour guide." He said with a smirk, tugging at the corner of his lips.

Oh how I want to slap that smug look off his face.

"Do I look like a bird to you?" I sassed, putting my hands on my hip. He raised his hands in surrender. "Hmm miss hummingbird has a good ring to it actually." He stated.

I groaned in frustration.

~End of Flashback~

Until we arrived at the office, he kept calling me miss hummingbird! It was so annoying.

I slowly but surely made my way towards the empty seat, grumbling as I approached it. I sat down on my seat and slouched down into it.

Mason already began annoying me.....by poking me.

I rolled my eyes. The teacher walked in class and everyone mumbled a 'good morning'. She started talking about Christopher Columbus. I tried my best to focus but this topic is really not interesting.

A paper appeared in front of me and I looked beside me to see Mason staring at me intensely.

I crumpled the paper and tossed it back to him. He unfolded it and sent it back. I heaved a sigh and looked at the note.

'hey Rose'.

I stared at him in disbelief. He didn't just send me a piece of paper marking 'Hey Rose'. Wow. I scribbled back on the paper,

'Hey Mason'.

And sent it back to him. "Miss White!" My teacher barked, "new to my class and already not listening but passing notes to Mr Lockhart. don't want to give me a bead impression of you on your first day now do you?" She said with a smirk, amused with her accomplishment of catching a student in the act.

"No Miss." I replied in utter embarrassment. When she turned away, I glared at Mason.

"Are you trying to get me in trouble?" I hissed. "What did I do? You Muss White were passing notes to me Mr Lockhart and on top of that not paying attention in class." He shook his head disapprovingly.

I rolled my eyes, this is gonna be a long day.
