After a day full of sad goodbyes and receiving multiple "good luck out there"s and "Stay safe"s, you grabbed your (F/C) suitcase and make your way to the outskirts of the city. With all of your other belongings shipped prior to your packing day with gramps, you only needed a small bag for your carry-on supplies. Your parents were coming along, so they could spend every minute left with you. You walked over the last hill to the rendezvous point, and saw everyone was already there waiting.
(B/N) was talking with her multiple family members, probably having a conversation on safety due to her parents constant worry over her. Your grandfather was talking to Jules, asking him questions about his robotics. Your best friend noticed your presence, and after hugging your parents again you walked over to the blue hedgehog.
"Now that we are all here," Jules began to speak, "we can prep the warp ring."
He pulled out a small, leather satchel from his bag. Inside was a golden ring about the size of a fancy bracelet. He held the object vertically between his thumb and index finger before tossing it beside him. The second the ring left his hand, the warp ring started to spin in the air and expand. By the time the ring was inches from the grass, it was large enough to jump through. Inside the ring, an array of gold, yellow, and bronze colors swirled, and tiny stars danced in the center. The ring stayed floating above the ground, and it slowly spun around.
"INCREDIBLE!!!!!!" Your grandpa shrieked in amazement. "What circuits are inside of it? It must use immense amounts of power, am I correct?"
"Rings are not units of technology, Mr.Wells," Jules corrected. "Rings carry large amount of chaos energy, giving power to the user to do incredible feats. Warp rings were created to make traveling faster in serious cases, but they can now be used by mobians of high ranks for tasks given to them from the king. All we need to do now is jump through, and we will be relocated outside the walls of New Mobotropolis."
You turned back to your parents and gave them one last embrace. Your mother told you earlier that you wouldn't see them until the village was rebuilt and peace was restored. You knew that it would take several months until you had a family reunion, so you wanted to make the moment last. Your mother gave you one last kiss on your forehead as she told you to stay safe and have fun. She went over to your grandpa to say goodbye to him, and to give him some guide-lines. Your father on the other hand, as much more serious about your departure. He gave you a stare of importance, and placed a solid hand on your shoulder.
"Remember everything I taught you, (Y/N)."Your father commanded strongly. "Play your opponent, strike hard and fast, and most of all..."
"Never give up," you stated in unison. "That's my warrior," your father said as a smile appeared on his face. Tears were threatening to run down your cheeks, but you held the waterworks in, and showed determination in your eyes instead of sadness.
You shared one last embrace before turning back to the warp ring. Your friend was just finishing her goodbye's, and your grandfather had ceased talking to your mother. You nodded your head to your friend and elderly relative, and you made your way to the ring. Your grandfather was the first to jump. As he leapt through, we let out a small chuckle of enjoyment, causing a smile to form on your muzzle.
You grabbed your ally's hand, and the two of you waved to your families. Staring at your companion, you nodded to her and smiled. You jumped through the portal, laughing with (B/N) as you teleported. It felt as if you were falling towards the non-existing ground, rushing past the sparkles and shimmering colors around you. Soon, another door-sized ring appeared below you, and the two of you fell right through it.
