You walked with your friend to the sky patrol land base. It was hard for your ally to resist the spicy smell of chili dogs, but you were able to keep it out of her reach. As you walked into the base, you noticed some improvements on the Sky Patrol. Rotor was using a blow torch to fix the metal exterior, and you could see some areas that were already fixed. Bunnie was using her robotic legs to fly around the sky patrol and reload a few cannons. You didn't see any way that you could help, and (B/N) was starting to drool from hunger. You held the basket of food away from her, and the two of you went inside the ship.

Everyone else was inside, working on their own tasks. Tails, Sally, and Nicole were at the large computer at the front of the room. Big was helping Antoine lift the heavy bags of supplies. Meanwhile, Amy was going around the halls with several blankets and pillows at hand. You assumed that she was decorating the bedrooms. Even little Cream and Cheese were handing drinks and small snacks to the busy teens. This pulled your companions attention away from the chili dogs, and she left to grab a few doughnuts.

You noticed that Sonic was sitting at the round table again. His hurt foot was propped up on a pillow on the table. He was looking at some papers in front of him while bobbing his head to the music coming from his headphones. Even if he was distracting himself, you could tell that he was bored. Stuck sitting around would drive any one with super speed crazy.

It seemed that everyone had to leave the main room, well except for you and Sonic. This gave you the perfect chance to ask the Blue Blur about your secret mission. The questioning thought about the robot's missing appearance still lurked in your mind. You were itching for answers, so if you wanted it, you had to be quick.

"Hey, Sonic," you began to ask after inhaling and closing your eyes, "there's been something on my mind. The information we got said that the chaos emerald and the giant robot were supposed to be in the same base, but I didn't see any sign of a metal monstrosity. Unless I missed the sign on a door saying 'Giant Robot, Come Take A Peak,' I don't think there was any deadly machine in there. Did you see anything last night?"

You waited for any kind of reply, but silence continued to linger through the air. You opened one eye after another, and face-palmed. Sonic was still sitting in the chair listening to his sick beats. This time, Sonic wasn't just bobbing his head to the rhythm. He was playing the air guitar, and he was making sound effects with his mouth.

"Sonic?" you said trying to get his attention. He still didn't listen to your voice, and you started getting upset. "Sonic," you repeated.

The hedgehog continued to to play his imaginary instrument, oblivious that you were beside him. You shook you r head in frustration. Soon, he started singing, and since he couldn't hear his own voice, you had to cover your ears.

"Rollin around at the speed of sound," Sonic sang. He started using his free foot to balance his chair on two legs.

"Sonic," you called again, only to be ignored. You started getting sick of the lack of attention. You started walking up to the hero while he continued performing.

"Got places to go gotta FOLLOW MY RAINBOW!!!" he screamed the words so loud that you must have gone deaf.
You approached Sonic, and you pulled the blue and red headphones off his ears. "SONIC!!"

"Whoa!!" the hedgehog said. You sudden shriek knocked him off balance, and he started falling onto the ground in his chair. Sadly for you, he grabbed your arm and pulled you with him.

The two of you landed on the floor with a thud. You landed on top of him, and after realizing the position, you blushed a bright red in the cheeks. You turned your head away so Sonic wouldn't see your face. Slowly you pulled yourself off the male. Sonic picked himself off the ground, and by hopping on his well foot, he brought the chair up off the ground, and sat back down.

"That was one of my favorite songs. (Y/N)," the teen stated. "Well, along with 'His World,' 'Knight of the Wind,' Mina's song, 'Soldier Boy'..."

You rolled your eyes, "I like that song, too, but that's not what I'm talking about."

"Then what do you need?"

"I.." you were interrupted again when the door opened, and Tails, Rotor, and Nicole came back in. They began working on the computer again, probably downloading new security firewalls.

You whispered in Sonic's ear, "It's about last night's mission."

This caught the Blue Blur's attention, and he nodded his head. Quietly, he stood up, and motioned for you to follow him down the hall. You walked behind the hobbling teen silently, and carefully watched the three freedom fighters to make sure they didn't see you leave.
