Never Expecting This

Chapter 81

        You laid hidden in the metallic air ducts. The cool breeze ran up your back, giving you goosebumps in your neck. Your neck was sore and cramped in the small passage way, and your whole body became numb from the lack of movement. However, the physical pain was endured wasn't the first thing on your mind. Instead, you only felt fear; fear for the blue hedgehog down below. Sonic was about to make the ultimate sacrifice, one would change the lives of everyone on planet Mobius. You felt like rushing down there to fight, but with so many robots in the room, you would be overpowered in mere seconds. Then, you would be roboticized as well, not exactly a successful mission. The only thing you could do was watch the next few events unfold and fulfill your part of the plan.

        "Finally, at long last I've beat the "heroic" Sonic the Hedgehog." exclaimed Eggman, before his laughter echoed throughout the halls of the Death Egg.

        "Don't count your eggs before they hatch Egghead," Sonic rebuttled, "we always beat you in the end, no matter the odds.

        Eggman only laughed once again, "And you need to know when you are beat, you shiny little pincushion." Now, the human came into view as we walked towards the blue male. He was off the Egg mobile, but if you left now, you would be caught for sure. You had to wait for the robots to leave the room.

        "You were beat in the very beginning," Eggman stated. "From the very second that spy delivered you the plans for world domination, you were destined to fail."

        "What are you talking about?" Sonic questioned, confused as much as you were.

        "Did you really think I would allow one of your feeble spies to gain access to my plans so easily? That should've been your first warning sign. I've learned from my past mistakes, and chosen the strategies that will finally break your team apart."

        "Distracting you and your team for a short time was the first step, easily done with the plan of deadly robots spread across the globe. During that time, I was able to construct the roboticizer, one that would finally bring an end to this war, and bring my dream of conquest to life."

        Eggman disappeared from view, and you watched Sonic being pulled away from strong robots into the roboticizer. They placed the blue hedgehog in the center of the machine, in which a cylinder of glass came down from above, trapping the hedgehog inside. He kicked, punched, and spindashed the glass casing, but none of his moves made a dent.

        "I know that girl is here as well," Eggman stated out of sight. He addressed his robot henchmen, "Search every area of this facility until you find (Y/N) (L/N) and bring her to me for roboticization. She couldn't have gotten very far. "

        The machines left the room, making the room bare expect for Eggman and Sonic in his clutches. You heard some buttons being pressed on the Egg Mobile, and the roboticizer sparked to life. You watched the madman approach the freedom fighter, nothing but hatred in his eyes.

        "It's strange how you planned to destroy each and every one of my deadly robots. Yet, the irony is you will become the machine that finally help me to conquer the world! Farewell, dear friend!!"

        Suddenly, an electric shock was sent through the hedgehog's body, causing him to fall to the ground. You made your move, peeling your eyes away from the horror. You moved as silently as possible, crawling out of the air ducts on into the room. Just as your feet touched the ground, you dashed to the Egg Mobile. You pulled the flash drive out of your hands, and found the slot to insert it in.

        "SIEZE HER!!!!"

        You looked up for a mere second, only to see Eggman enraged by your sight and blocking your view of Sonic. Without a second thought, you plunged the flash drive into the computer, and it immediately began to release a virus in the system. The computer screen turned red, a large exclamation sign showing error. The next thing you knew, you heard the roboticizer begin to fritz out. The electricity began to build until you were certain the machine would explode. You ducked down in the Egg Mobile, and seconds later heard the ear-shattering sound of large boom!
