Never Expecting This

Chapter 47

       "Long time no see, guys," Sonic stated as he first bumped the Arctic wolf.

A squirming Tails pulled your eyes to a young fox being squeezed by a buff polar bear. The strong bear was very silent, but you could tell by the smile on his face that he was happy for the reunion.

"We...missed....you....too," the fox choked out, and he was suddenly released.

"Who's this?" A female ermine asked with a rude tone.

Sally walked up to you and crossed her arms while saying, "A new recruit, Erma, and you're going treat her equally to us. Understand?"

"Perfectly princess," Erma answered in a hostile manner. She pointed a finger at you as she added," But I am NOT saving her a.."

"Watch your language, Erma!!" Guntiver interrupted.

"Fine!! I am NOT saving her when she screws up our mission," the ermine stated, obviously annoyed.

She turned to you and warned you, " Watch your back, newbie. This isn't a game anymore."

After her curt announcement, the rude female walked to her penguin teammate. You had a few words to say to her, but profanities would only make things worse. You could swear in your native language, but she would probably get confused and ruin the humor. You ignored the Artika freedom fighter's comment and turned to Sally.

"Isn't she a pleasant person?" you said while rolling your eyes.

"She's a fighter, definitely not a lover," the squirrel responded. "She's a little nicer when you get to know her, but not by much."

"Anyways," Bunnie intervened, "These are the Attila freedom fighters: Guntiver the wolf, Erma Ermine, Sealia Seal, Flip the Penguin, and Agustus the Polar Bear. These folks have been gainin' information about the base here. "

"Oui!!" the seal exclaimed as she pulled you in a hug, "weel become ze, how you say, BFFs!!"

You felt your back pop from the strong embrace. You were dropped onto the cold floor, and you landed straight on your rear. As you pulled yourself off the ground, Sonic dashed towards you and snickered.

"She has an iron grip, hahaha!!" the hero chuckled as he leaned against your shoulder.

Only shook your head and smiled. Besides a certain someone you felt a warm welcome from the team, which was very surprising from such a cold continent.
