Never Expecting This

Chapter 20

          You and Sonic stumbled away from the base. You had his arm over your shoulders as he leaned on you for support. When you were far enough from the base, you rested behind a tree and examined the blue blurs foot. You tugged off the shoe since the muscles had swollen greatly. At your old school, it was a requirement to take a health class and learn about treating injuries and illness. His ankle was definitely dislocated, but must have slept through the treatment portion of the class.

The only person you knew that could help was your sleeping grandfather. He was well over 200 miles away, and the moon was starting to dip into the horizon. You could also tell that Sonic was frustrated, but you didn't know why. '

'Is he just in pain? Or that we were almost caught? ' you began to wonder. Either way, you didn't enjoy seeing him so upset.

The two of you needed some sort of transportation, but with all of your friends asleep far away, your hope was becoming smaller. Suddenly, a idea popped in your head. You reached in your back pocket for your phone. It was very old compared to your new devices, but would serve it's purpose. There was one person that you knew would be able to help.

You called your room mate since you knew she sleeps while listening to music by her celebrity crush. Her music was on her phone, so when the phone rang, the annoying ringtone beeped in her ears. She would probably kill you, but getting back to the city seemed more important.

The phone rang about three times before (B/N)'s groggily voice was heard. "(Y/N), why are you callin me?" she asked.

"Look, (B/N)," you began to explain, but you knew that you had to lie. You hated to do it, but Sonic would be upset if you told her the truth. "I snuck out of the city with Sonic to.....uh."

"Wait, are you doin what I think you're doin?" You could sense the smirk on her face.

You blushed in embarrassment, "No way!!! You're getting the wrong idea!"

"You guys went out for a MIDNIGHT DATE!!!!" (Y/N) and Sonic sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G!!!!!" she screamed. Even Sonic could hear, and he looked at you in confusion.

You gave him a nervous grin, and then turned away from him. "Can ya stop, please? Sonic hurt his ankle while running, and we're super far away. Can ya come get us?"

Your friend finished his laughing and quieted down to a serious tone. "(Y/N), how am I gonna get to ya? We don't have any vehicles."

You face palmed in frustration, and you could hear a certain boy laughing in the background. You began thinking of ideas. "What about my grandpa's lab? He might have something down there. I wouldn't be surprised if he had nuclear bomb in one of his drawers," you joked.

"K, I'll check it out, and when I get there, I want all the details," your friend snickered, You gave her your location, and ended the call.
