CHAPTER 64
ANTONIO RETURNED WITH SOME United Nations stationary and a trusty black BIC pen. I had little useful memory of the event, so I had to rely on what the others could recall. Fortunately, with everyone's help we pieced together the exact words spoken by the Teacher used. I was entrusted with the sacred text until it was determined who would scribe this most important new book in the Kingdom Age Testament.
LaGuardia was closed, the trains all frozen on their tracks, the busses and cabs stuck in their terminals or stranded on the streets, and because travel was restricted to walking, people began setting up campsites on any open area and in the city's buildings, squatting wherever there was space. For the first few weeks everyone in the world was faced with basic survival—finding enough food, shelter, and water. For those in the third world already struggling to survive, not much about their daily lives was different. For the rest of us, however, we were suddenly sensitized to the plight of the poor.
That bond of empathy fueled a growing commitment to honor the Teacher's request that in the Kingdom Age world everyone would have access to adequate food, clean water, reasonable shelter, and the opportunity to live a fulfilled life. Had the Creator flicked His mighty finger to choreograph the radical events of the past few weeks and going back through the Time of Troubles? Not really, but as the old Bible taught us, "All things work together for good for those who love God."
What just happened to planet Earth, the reversal of the magnetic poles, the sun setting in the east, had been noted in a number of records of ancient cultures. The devastation during the Time of Troubles was also part of an ancient cycle that our planet would go through periodically. There's plenty of crater evidence of comets striking Earth and radically affecting life, along with others that triggered a yearlong winter because of all the dust thrown up high into the atmosphere.
Though I suppose a divinity would be powerful enough to wave a magic wand and change things, but that's just not the Creator's style. This latest incarnation of the Christ Principle was a teacher at heart. Life on planet Earth appears to have become a classroom where if we pay close attention and do our homework we can learn the lessons that will allow us to evolve spiritually. Inherent in the principle of evolution is the only true satisfaction in life—that of growth through engaging in a creative process while applying one's energy, gifts, and time—and all in the Service of Others.
No matter how much money you have, you can't buy a medical degree that will immediately give you the skills and knowledge to successfully carry out a heart transplant. The Creator understands this principle, and has provided us with the university, this life of ours on Earth, and the professors, our life experiences, to earn the spiritual degree allowing us to graduate to the next level of spiritual existence.
The other spirit beings, assistants, whom the Teacher brought back with Him, were once incarnate human beings, flesh and blood, who successfully advanced to becoming Master spirit beings who could exist without bodies, but who could also shape-shift into a body if necessary. This is what was allowing them to live among us and share their wisdom through leading by example in the direction they hoped we'd all follow.
A NUMBER OF MONTHS PASSED AND EVERYONE in our group was getting restless. Some were trying to figure out a way to get back to their homelands while others were resigning themselves to living out the rest of their lives right here in Manhattan. Central Park was turned into a farm for growing grain while all the tall buildings and rooftops were adapted to use urban vertical farming techniques.
Several fields of wheat in Central Park were near the time of harvest. We were all sitting around a fire in the campgrounds we called home when a light in the autumn sky began glowing brighter and then began moving slowly closer, getting larger. At first we mistook the celestial object for the moon, but soon there were nine perfect smaller lights surrounding it, all equally spaced. Within an hour everyone living in Manhattan realized something incredible was happening. The source of the lights was moving slowly enough for people to follow, reminiscent of the Wise Men who followed Jesus' star at the time of His birth.
