Chapter 49

NOT THAT WE WEREN'T USED TO WATCHING miracles unfold, but the three of us were stunned to see such a radical transformation in Egoor. It was like watching a stand of pink tulips all rise up and blossom in just a few seconds. I wanted in on some of that love coming Autumn's way, so I quickly slipped back into her soul space and let Antonio and Jorus to keep an eye on the developing situation.

Though pleased with the progress Egoor was making, we also knew that given his history there was a good chance it would not stick. We were worried that he might be like a thief who gets caught, confesses, vows to turn over a new leaf, but when released on a technicality goes right back to his old ways.

"Antonio, I've got an idea. Are you up for some role playing? Egoor is moving in the right direction, but to make sure he stays the course let's rock his spiritual world to the core," Jorus suggested, never one to shy away from adding a little theatrical drama to any Master's mission he was on.

"Okay...sure...but just what did you have in mind?" he whimsically responded, happy for what was happening, but recognizing the need to seal the deal with Egoor whose soul for the last twenty years was like quicksand when it came to supporting good deeds.

"How would Egoor react if the ghost of a deceased relative showed up? I'm thinking Martin Csrezenebe, the patriarch of the American branch of the clan and the man who began the family's involvement in the garment industry. He should be able to remind Egoor of his honorable and even heroic heritage. More than that, it will make him realize that there is life after death—that your soul needs to be healthy when you cross over. What do you think?"

"That makes sense, but is there a role for me?" Antonio pressed, thinking now that this just might be fun and a welcome change from the hard times everyone connected to the mission had been going through.

"Absolutely...you can be the ghost of Martin's uncle, Maxmilian Csrezenebe, who was already living in the States when he brought the boy of 19 over. All we have to do is to wait for Egoor to fall asleep, contact the spirits of these men, and ask if we can inhabit their souls for an hour or two. Does that work for you?" Jorus proposed, his confidence bred from lots of experience managing past missions.

"Sure, but can we be sure they will go along with our plans?" Antonio questioned.

"Well, they could refuse, but in all the missions I've been on no one ever has. That's one of the nice things about this faith brotherhood we're all a part of, it's easy to know who to trust and what everyone's true intensions are. So, with Autumn feeling so much better, Egoor will be nodding off soon. I'll get Martin here and you find Maxmilian."

"Sure...glad to, but how?" Antonio felt stupid having to ask.

"I forget you're new to this...just think of his name and send him one of those spext messages and he'll respond. When they both get here we'll brief them and get started with our haunting of Egoor's spirit. Should be fun, don't you think?"

"Absolutely...let's do it!"

OF COURSE, JORUS WAS RIGHT ON, AS I should have expected. Within seconds the spirit forms of both men found us, we told them what was going on and they agreed to allow us to share their soul space and minds long enough to complete the mission.

We decided to present our ghost figures with a human form that Egoor could relate to and possibly recognize as opposed to the more ethereal mist-like apparition ghosts might normally take. With Egoor unconscious we put him into an even deeper sleep, then woke his spirit and called it forth from his body.
