Delilah Thornberry never knew anything about the other world of magic. She was raised by her single mother, knowing nothing about her father.
What happens when she finds out that she was in fact a witch and is accepted into Hogwarts School of Witch...
"Well I see you've learned something from David... But get up if you want to get your school supplies."
"I'm up... I'm up woman!"
"Good... Get ready, don't want to be late."
With that, my mother left me to get ready. I grabbed my favorite outfit which was my Paris shirt with a black tank top under it. Paired with my favorite black shorts. And last but not least my converse.
Halfway out of my bedroom, Lily walked into my room. As she just sat there, I saw her infamous sad face.
"Lil, what's wrong with you?"
"I can't go with you, daddy, or mommy!"
I grabbed Lily's hand and we walked downstairs into the kitchen where my mother stood making breakfast.
"Mommy can Lily come shopping with us?"
"I suppose... As long as you two don't fight and stick together the entire time."
With an ok and a hug from Lily, I grabbed my breakfast which was pancakes with bacon and eggs. I quickly ate up and watched David walk in.
Once everyone was finished eating, we grabbed David's hand and we were apparated (As David calls it) to the shopping center. Otherwise known as Diagon Alley. Everything was magnificent! Magic was everywhere and the place was packed with shoppers.
As the day went on, I got my school robes, books and other materials. All I needed yet was a wand and maybe even an owl if I convinced David and my mother.
Finally after a quick lunch break at a place called The Leaky Cauldron, we left for Ollivanders.
As we walked into Ollivanders, I saw two boys both with red hair. They were twins. As I tried my best to ignore interacting with them, a man came from the back room.
He looked around the room until his eyes landed on me and David.
"Ahh David Arrington I remember you... I see you have two beautiful daughters. Which one is getting a wand today?"
"My daughter Delilah will be getting one for her first year at Hogwarts."
With a small wave to Mr. Ollivander, he turned around and grabbed a box. Holding it out to me, I ignored the stares from the red headed twins, and opened the box. I picked it up and gave it a wave like I was told. Immediately I broke a vase sitting on the desk. Quickly I placed it back into the box.
The next wand was magnificent though. As soon as I picked it up, everything felt right and it was amazing.
After purchasing the wand, we left the shop with the two twins behind. I quickly walked over to the Owl Emporium. David watched me with a smirk on his face.
As soon as my mother and Lily noticed that we stopped, they looked back at us. David looked at me and noticed my small pout and puppy dog eyes. Finally giving in, we walked inside the shop.
Picking out the cutest owl, we payed and walked out of the shop. Walking back down towards the leaky cauldron I looked at my speckled owl and decided I would name her Apollo.
Once we entered the Leaky Cauldron we walked towards the entrance and out we walked back to the busy streets of London. David apparated to get the car so we could drive home. After ten minutes, we spotted the car and I put all of my things in the trunk. Keeping Apollo with me in the backseat, we drove back home.
After a long day of shopping, I couldn't wait to see what Hogwarts has in store for me. And with one more thought before I fell asleep, who were those two boys at Ollivanders?
