Into Another World

Chapter 18

The holidays are over and I am officially back at Hogwarts. The day before I left for break I of course got in trouble with the twins and decided we would take a break from pranks. But only for a day or two. I mean come on, we couldn't go very long without doing some sort of prank.

Anyways, when I got back from break, I walked into the common room where everyone else was. Walking in, I got a major hug from Hadley and the twins. They apparently loved their gifts that I got them. I too loved the gifts they got me.

A few days into being back, we came up with our master prank. Fred and George we're going to blow up a toilet while of course either a student or a teacher sat on it. While they set up the prank, I waited outside the boys bathroom.

While I was waiting, Snape passed by and gave me a death glare.

"Miss Thornberry, what could you possibly be doing outside the boys bathroom?"

"Oh nothing Professor Snape! I'm just waiting for the twins so we can head to lunch."

"Whatever you say Miss Thornberry... But I assure you, if you are playing a prank on somebody, it better be on Professor Quirrel."

With a small smile he walked away. I have no idea why he even suggested such a thing! Or even why he was being so nice about it. Without a second thought a dismissed Snape's odd behavior.

The boys finally walked out right as Filch walked in. We quickly started walking away because he gave us a glare. If looks could kill, we would be six feet under. Once he walked into the bathroom, we heard a door close and then a loud boom.

Laughing we ran down the hallway. Filch entered the great hall minutes after we did. Grabbing a hold of us, he dragged us to the teachers table. Standing in front of McGonagall, she looked stunned at Filch's angry face. She gave us a stern look and stood up from her seat.

Walking with us to her office we were sat down in chairs across from her. Filch stood in the corner of the room near the door. He started explaining what happened to him in the bathroom. With a few quiet snickers, McGonagall looked at us with a look of disbelief.

Finally it was our turn to tell our side of the story.

Fred started with, "Well we didn't do anything to the toilets. You see we were doing our own business in the bathroom while Delilah waited outside for us. When we were about to leave, Filch came in. I think the explosion was his own doing..."

"Yeah you never know! He could've been taking a massive dump for all we know! Maybe the toilet couldn't handle it all and exploded!" Finished George.

For how they came up with this ridiculous story, I have no idea. But Filch looked embarrassed while McGonagall looked disgusted. Turning to me, McGonagall finally asked me if we pranked him or not.

"As the boys said, we weren't planning a prank at all! The boys were just doing their thing while I waited. For all I know their story could be true!"

With a sigh, McGonagall nodded and let us go without detention and didn't take away points. I have no idea how she believed our completely idiotic story but whatever! We were free.

Walking outside, I headed towards the black lake where we were supposed to meet our other friends. Looking at the snow covered castle, I finally realized that this place was a second home to me.

Finally making it to our meeting spot, we told our friends what happened. They laughed along with us. It was the best day of my life!

It was finally my birthday, January 6. I woke up to some presents at the end of my bed from my family back home. Opening them, I saw the most beautiful ruby necklace from my mother and David. Opening the other gift from Lily, I wasn't surprised when I saw a rock.

For some odd reason, Lily loved rocks and thought it would be a good idea to always give a rock for a present. Smiling at the gifts I hopped out of bed and got ready for the day. Making my way to breakfast, I saw a cake sitting at the Gryffindor table. I grabbed a piece and that's when everyone else notice the cake too.

Fred and George walked in and sat beside me. With a quick Happy Birthday, our day started.

That night I was exhausted and couldn't wait to go to sleep. Crawling into bed, I sighed with content and fell asleep.

Woo! Longest chapter ever with it being over eight hundred words! I can't believe this. I went to bed the other night with eight reads. When I woke up, their was 22 reads and I was amazed! This morning I woke up to see 41 reads and I am so proud.
