Into Another World

Chapter 12

We walked up many stairs until we finally stopped in front of a woman. She looked like someone you would not want to cross. I found out that she was Professor McGonagall.

After telling us a whole bunch of information, she walked into a room. About ten minutes later, Professor McGonagall came back to us.

With a small nod she said, "We are ready for you."

Finally the nerves started once we entered the great hall where everyone was seated. I was scared to see how they sorted us into the houses. After a while, Fred looked over at me and took notice of my scared face. He grabbed a hold of my clammy hand and told me that the sorting was easy.

With those words I finally calmed down. During my nervous breakdown, I missed all the directions of what we were supposed to do. But all of my questions were answered when Professor McGonagall called the first name on the list.

After half the students were sorted, Fred's name was called. The sorting hat was placed on his head and we stood waiting for his placement. After a couple of seconds, he was placed into Gryffindor. Next was George. He too was placed into Gryffindor like his twin.

After ten more students, I became worried thinking that my name wasn't on the list. Finally it got down to me and another student. During my anxiety of thinking I wasn't supposed to be here, I almost missed my name being called. With my nerves coming back full force, I walked up to the stool and took a seat. After the hat was placed on my head I heard him talking.

"I see you have many things going on in your head. You're very smart so maybe Ravenclaw? But I think you would be a better Hufflepuff since you are so kind. But yet their is loyalty and bravery. So it better be... Gryffindor!" The hat finally shouted out my fate.

With a huge sigh of relief, I walked over to the Gryffindor table where everyone was so welcoming. Taking a seat next to Fred the feast finally began after the last student was placed into Slytherin.

Grabbing as much food as I could, I quickly started eating. By the time the food vanished and the dessert was put out in front of us, I was stuffed. Taking one look at all of the good snacks I saw my favorite thing in the entire world.

Chocolate pudding! Taking one last look at it, I decided that I could eat a little bit more. Fred and George looked at me in disbelief at how much I had eaten. I mean it wasn't my fault that I hadn't eaten since this morning!

Finally dinner was over and the Prefects took us to our common rooms. Halfway up the staircase I looked up and noticed that the staircases moved. It was absolutely amazing!

Finally stopping at a portrait of a fat lady, our Prefect told us the password which was 'Dragon Blood' and we walked in. The common room was absolutely breathtaking! Our Prefect told us where our dorms were located and we quickly went on our merry way.

Once I got to the first year girls dorm, I said goodnight to Fred and George. Taking notice of my trunk at the edge of a bed, I quickly jumped into my pajamas and got in the bed.

Closing the hangings around my bed, I fell into an amazing sleep filled with dreams of what this school year will bring.
