He knew about your "Inner Fangirl"...

Yesterday afternoon, you had gotten the next book in the latest romance series to sweep the country. You wouldn't openly admit it to people, but you enjoyed reading trashy romance novels. It was your guilty pleasure. It was beside the fact that the main character in the series was an ex-cop turned security guard who happened to look fine in a pair of blue jeans.

Since you had woken up that morning, you parked yourself on the couch, turned on Pandora through the sound system, and started reading. Unless you were getting up to use the bathroom or grab some water, you really hadn't moved.

As you were enthralled in the book, you were paying attention to the outside world enough to know Mark was starting to take notice of your intense reading session. It was probably the fourth or fifth time he had strolled by the couch when Mark chuckled before mumbling, "Her and her books, I'll never understand"

You had currently gotten into a really intense part in the main character's love life, where the other main character who was a part-time sleuth was currently in the midst of arguing with the security guard. She had caught him lying to her about something and they were on the verge of breaking up. As you struggled to read through the section, you also fought the tears that threatened to fall down your face.

In your opinion, it wasn't your fault! Throughout the 4 books the series had to offer so far, you had grown to love the characters. You had also grown to love the relationship the main characters shared, in which their ship was often referred to as "Sparky". You weren't afraid to admit you were a fangirl, except to Mark. Let's face it, you were an extreme fangirl at heart and guys just don't get that.

As you continued to read through the section that continuously gave you the feels, the sleuth suggested that the two break up. That's where you lost it. Tossing your book onto the pillow beside you, a tear slipped down your cheek.

"Urghhhh, does the world hate happiness or something? Can't two people just be happy?!?!" You asked out loud to an empty house, or so you had thought. It wasn't long until you heard Mark start making his way downstairs as he replied.

"Yes, the world loves nothing more than trying to screw up people's relationships cause why not." He sarcastically responded as you heard a thunk, signaling that he had reached the bottom of the steps.

"Screw you Mark!" You called back as you grabbed a pillow off the couch, covering your face with it. With your face buried into the pillow, you didn't see him, but you felt the couch sag slightly under the weight as Mark sat down on the couch.

"What's wrong?"

"You wouldn't understand!" You answered back, but it came back slightly muffled.

"Try me.." He shot back with. Even though you couldn't see Mark's face, you knew the signature smirk was currently taking up residence on his face. Lifting the pillow off your face, you wiped at your eyes before responding.

"It's the stupid book ok? THE LITERARY WORLD HATES ME!!!" When you glanced at Mark, you saw him slowly raise a dark eyebrow in question. See, you knew he wouldn't understand!!

"If it's such a stupid book and the literary world hates you, why do you love the series then?"

"Because it's the life of a fangirl ok?" You blurted out, which made him jump slightly. As you sat up on the couch, you got a good look at his face. At first, a look of confusion resided on his face. Slowly, you watched his face transform as the confusion was slowly replaced with a humorous expression. His chocolate eyes seemed to light up to the point of where they almost looked hazel.

"Ohh, so you're a fangirl huh?" The brightest smile slowly overtook his face, his white teeth shining brightly.

"Yeah, and?"

"I know my fair share about fangirls, you do remember that I'm Markiplier right?" Mark began stretching in such a way that conveniently showcased the muscle in his arms. Of course, you knew about his fangirls. It's always entertaining to look at the comments on his posts.

"Of course, how could I forget." You rolled your eyes.

"I never would have pegged you as a fangirl, though, you seem too...sane for that." Leaning over slightly, you playfully smacked his upper arm. You couldn't help but notice the muscle that was there. Now, that was something to fangirl about.

"I'm what they call a closet fangirl; you're a fangirl, and few people know that, but others don't." Once again, he raised an eyebrow as Mark looked at you.

"And you never told me because?"

"You've got to deal over 13 million fangirls, the last thing you need is your girlfriend being one too."

"Yeah, but you'd be my favorite fangirl." Mark leaned over to quickly give you a kiss. It all ended too soon, and he pulled away to stand up from the couch.

"Give the literary world another chance, ok? I want my girlfriend back before the year ends." You laughed at his exaggeration. He was right, what would it hurt? Quietly, you picked up the book and continued reading it, once again getting dragged into the "Sparky" relationship. After all, a fangirl never backs down.
