He was the 'Hired Help'...

This was a random idea that came to my head, so with the help of my bestie Noel, this became a reality!

You sat there on your couch, the invitation in your hand. The only feeling that ran through your system was irritation at the fact you actually had to attended the family reunion. You tried getting out of it, but had no such luck.

Your Aunt on your mother's side was rich beyond belief, many would say she had too much. Anyways, every few years or so, she rented out this outlandish but gorgeous castle in Northern California for the "L/N Family Reunion". It wasn't just a normal reunion though, it had this whole masquerade/Cinderella theme to it. It was always beautiful, but you hated going for one reason.

Every time you went, your family grilled you about your social life. You always got the question of "where's your boyfriend?" When you replied with you didn't have one, then came the jokes about how you were going to be a spinster for the rest of your life and so on.

Which is why you now sat on your couch, thinking if there was any way you could get out of this family reunion. Sickness? No, too common. Death in the family obviously wouldn't work in this case. Oo, what about a work related emergency, you thought to yourself.

As you continued to think this through, your best friend Mark came flying downstairs. It was your regular scheduled movie day that you guys had every week. Mark knew about the trouble you were having with the reunion, but didn't really comment about it.

"Are you STILL thinking about the family reunion Y/N?" Mark asked as he plopped down next to you on the couch.

"Guilty." You found yourself muttering under your breath.

"Well, what's troubling you the most about it? Maybe I can help?"

"Hmm, maybe it's the fact that my family treats me not having a boyfriend or a family at this point the end of the world?" You mused, the sarcasm seeping through your voice.

"Ha, don't I know that!" When you gave Mark a confused look, he went on further about the situation. "Every time I got home, my mom asks where my girlfriend is every time. When I tell her that I don't have one, I swear she dies a little on the inside."

"Oh come on!" You found yourself laughing. "That can't be true!"

"I'm serious! With all the stupid stuff I've done with YouTube and the amount of hospital stints I've had, she somehow thinks I'm going to keel over and die at any moment. The fact that I don't have any kids myself to carry on the Fischbach name kills her, and I know it!"

"So, trust me, I know what's it's like to have your family put your social life on trial." Mark finished as he took a sip of water from the bottle on the coffee table. "Now what movie did you want to watch first; Avengers or Sherlock Holmes?"

That's when you got the brilliant idea, well probably just idea, to hire Mark to be your boyfriend. Or, have him pretend to be your boyfriend! It was perfect; you'd get your family off your backs, and in exchange for him going to the family reunion as your boyfriend, when Mark went out to visit his family, you would pretend to be his girlfriend! Everybody wins here!!

So with this on your mind, you blurted out "I want you to be my boyfriend!"

Mark gave you a puzzled look before smiling brightly, which you had to admit, got you every time. "Uh, I don't think that's a movie title, even if it was, we agreed that we would never watch romantic comedys when we were here."

"No, Mark, I'm serious. I want, need you actually, to be my boyfriend."

"You gotta at least buy me dinner first Y/N. I don't give it out for free." Mark joked with you as he sent you another dazzling smile. It took him a few moments of directly staring into your eyes to know that you weren't kidding about this.
