You sat on the plane a few days later, staring out at LA through the window. You didn't know if it was the emotions that were running through your system at the time or the fact that you felt freed from the secret of your mother, but you agreed to the trip with Mark back to your home state of Wisconsin. The nerves in you were through the roof. Since you had gotten on the plane with Mark, you knee would not stop bouncing in place. You were nervous as hell, which was understandable. Wisconsin is where it all started and ended. The minute you had been let out of the institution, you booked the first train to LA.
You were brought out of your thoughts by Mark sitting back down next you. When he saw the look in your eyes, he gave you a reassuring smile.
"Everything's going to be ok, you're doing the right thing here." Mark placed a hand on your knee in an attempt to stop it bouncing everywhere. Despite the heat that was radiating from his hand as it sat there, it didn't stop your knee from bouncing.
"Now that I know about the whole situation with your mother, where's your father? Is he currently rotting in prison for embezzlement and money laundering?" You glanced towards your left, looking at Mark with an eyebrow raised.
"Have you been watching mob movies again?" All Mark did to acknowledge your previous statement was try and fight the grin that slowly spread over his face. "No, despite the.. somewhat exciting past with my mother, it's a lot more clean cut with my father. He still lives in Wisconsin, but he left me and my mom when I was five for the receptionist he worked with." A sad expression slowly spread on Mark's face, but it was quickly replaced with a smile. He suddenly leaned towards you and lightly kissed your temple, before pulling away.
"What was that for?" You asked him.
"For being open with me, I know it's been difficult lately for you. I appreciate it." You couldn't stop the smirk that slowly spread on your face.
"Aw, is Mark starting to go soft on me?" I stifled the laugh that started to bubble up as I watched a slight pink tinge appear on his cheeks.
"Only towards you.." The blush on his cheeks brightened another shade. Normally, you weren't a huge fan of embarrassing people in public, but you couldn't help the urge that came up in you.
"Someone's blushing...."
"Shut up, you don't me!" Mark gave his typical response when you started to poke fun at him. To you, a flustered Mark was the cutest Mark, but you loved him either way.
As you went back to looking out the window, butterflies began to float around your stomach as you thought about what you just said. It seemed as if your mind was comfortable with admitting the fact that you loved him, now the air between you two was open. There weren't any more secrets, and you liked it.

*Fast forward to Six hours later*
The two of you had arrived in Milwaukee and had checked into your hotel room. Mark was currently laid out on the kind sized bed that was in the middle of the room while you were in the bathroom getting ready to see your Mom's grave. You didn't want to just show up in your casual clothes, so you figured to pay respect's you'd dress up, which wasn't normal for you.
What you had put on was the little black dress every girl should own. The skirt length came down to just above the knee. It was a higher up neckline which you were glad for because you were never one for showing a lot of, if any cleavage. A small little black belt went around the middle of the dress. You left Y/C/H alone to loosely fall over your shoulders.
To top it all off, you had on the silver studs your mother had gotten you shortly before she died and put a slight coat of mascara on to make Y/C/E's pop. As you looked at yourself in the mirror, you felt confident. You allowed yourself to think about your mother before she died. You remembered how she was this bright, vibrant person who was also tough when she needed to be. Even though the past seven years had been shaky, you knew she would be proud.
