*I know this idea might seem a little out there... just bare with me on this one, I promise it will be good ;)*
*Dedicated to my best friend Noel, this is her request :D She gave me this idea, I swear!!!! :)*
You strolled along the sidewalk, taking deep breaths of fresh air along the way. You hadn't been able to enjoy this feeling for years, and it was nice to finally get the chance to experience fresh air. Sure you had been out for several months now, but it was nice to able to experience it all over again.
You had just gotten out of an insane asylum, or as they like to call it, a 'rehabilitation center'. No, you weren't committed for being insane, you were committed in the hopes of saving your sanity. In 2010, you were in Wisconsin visiting your mother for your Christmas break. Well, let's just say your break didn't last long. You had only been up there for a few days when both you and your mom came home in the midst of a burglary. You never wanted to go much into detail about it, but you watched your mother get brutally murdered in front.
Even though you were 20 and legally an adult, the system and psychologists for some reason, deemed you as 'mentally unstable'. Of course you were going to be slightly unhinged, you watched your mother get murdered right in front of your fucking eyes. Even though you thought of yourself as mentally sane, the world didn't and put you in the system. That was 6 years ago, and only six months ago did they deem you 'fit to enter society' again. Let's just say you were glad to get out of that hell hole.
As you walked the streets of LA where you now lived for a 'fresh start', you realized how much of the basic freedoms you missed. It was nice to just be free.
With the sun reflecting off your Aviators, you glanced up into the sunny sky with a smile on your face. You were pretty sure other people around you hated the sun, but they also weren't given limited access to it for six years.
In your midst of gazing up into the sky, you collided with something solid. Yelping, you watched as the ground got closer and closer. Just before you hit the pavement, a pair of arms wrapped around your waist and jerked you back up into a standing position.
Brushing your hair out of your face, you looked up at the man who had saved you from falling into the ground. Your guess is that he was roughly 6 feet tall, give or take a few inches. The natural muscle that he possessed made him seem bigger than he actually was. The man raised a hand to scratch at the scruff that covered his chin and the sides of his face. You were thankful for the sunglasses over your face as you watched his bright red hair in awe. Over the past few months, you noticed that it was apparently a trend now to dye your hair insane colors.
"Are you ok?" He asked, a layer of concern showing in his chocolate brown eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine," You responded before clearing your throat. "Guess I was just caught up in daydreaming."
A charming smile slid into place on his face as his eyes lit up. "Ohh one of those days huh?" You didn't know what the reason was, but you oddly attracted to this man. There hadn't been many guys, even before your mother's murder, that you felt this pull towards. Relationships were never really your focus. You had opted for working on your studies than getting a guy. Yes, there had been a select few you had gotten involved with, but those never really went far.
You shook your head in an attempt to rid your mind of those thoughts. "Eh, you could say that. I haven't been here long, so I love just getting lost in the beauty this city has to offer."
You watched as a sudden interest had sparked in his eyes. "Oh, so you're new here huh? How long have you been here?"
"About six months." You told the man truthfully.
