The Box

Preston's POV
"ARE YOU SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME?!" I screamed as I threw my tie at the ground.

I was supposed to be picking up Rob in 10 minutes and I couldn't tie my tie. We are going to a fancy restaurant for our 3 year anniversary and I was going to be late. I picked up my phone and quickly googled how to tie a tie.

After I finally tied it, I ran downstairs. I was supposed to pick up Rob in 5 minutes and he lived 10 minutes away. I sighed and walked towards the door. I slowly came to a stop at the table next to the door and picked up a box that could make or break our relationship. I slipped it into my pocket and set out to my car.

I slid into my car and started it. I quickly put into gear and let go of the brake. I pulled out of my driveway and drove as fast as I could to Rob's house.

As I pulled up to his house, I saw Rob waiting patiently on the porch for me.

"You're late," Rob said with a smile as he got in.

"Have to be fashionably late." I stated as I leaned in and kissed Rob.

~time skip~

We arrived just in time for our reservation.

"Reservation for Arsement" I said to the Monsieur as we wondered in.

He smiled and showed us to our table. We sat outside with a beautiful view. We saw the pretty sunset over the ocean.

"The sunset looks so beautiful tonight," Rob commented with a big smile on his face

"Not as beautiful as the flower King."

Rob blushed and looked down at the menu. I reached over and grabbed Rob's hand and ran my thumb over his knuckles. He looked up into my eyes. I stared into his big brown puppy eyes and enjoyed the sight I was looking at.

"Happy anniversary Preston"

"Happy anniversary Robby"

~time skip to dessert~

"Here is your chocolate cake, enjoy"

Me and Rob both grabbed our forks and started to eat the cake. I laughed as Rob got chocolate all over his lips.

As the cake slowly started to disappear, I slipped my hand into my pocket and grabbed hold of the box. I quietly took a deep breath. I slowly got up and bent down to one knee while Rob was still eating the cake. Once he looked over I opened the box and took his hand.

"I love you so much Rob. Will you become Rob Arsement and marry me?" I smiled and looked into his eyes.

My smile slowly turned into a frown as Rob frowned and said "um Preston." 

I got up and ran out of the restaurant. How could he do that? As I got to my car and felt a tear slip from my eyes.

I unlocked the car and felt a hand touch my shoulder. I turned around to see Rob looking at me with tears at his eyes.

"Rob, I thought you loved me?" I said trying to hold back more tears but failing. I sniffed quietly and looked to the ground.

"Preston I do. I was just shocked by your request. You see..." He took his hand out of his pocket to find his own box in his pocket, "I was going to ask you the same thing."

He opened the box and I saw an engagement ring in the box. We both thought of proposing to each. 

I smiled and leaned into Rob. I put my forehead on his and put my hands on his hips. I pulled him closer and closed the gap between our lips. We kissed for what seemed like hours and I pulled away. 

"So is that a yes?" I asked Rob

Rob smiled and put his hand out. I put the engagement ring on his finger and then locked fingers with him.

"Of course"

Rob let go off my hand and took his engagement ring out of his box. I held my hand up and slipped the ring onto my finger.

"I love you so much, Preston Arsement"

"I love you so much, Rob Latski"
