Chapter 26
Jade heard something hit the window above her head. She assumed it was a tree branch blowing in the wind, but when it happened a second time, then a third she put her book down and crawled across her bed to the window.
She opened the window and looked out, seeing nothing at first. Her eyes began adjusting to the light when she looked down.
Jade squeaked as her eyes focused on the object below, “Tobey!”
He smiled up at her, “Can I have my hug now?”
