Chapter 20
Tobey did up the buttons on the front of his black dress shirt. He slipped his cross underneath before putting on his black dress pants. The chain was barely visible around his neck.
Geoffrey would be coming to pick him up in an hour to take him to the memorial service. His father asked if he could take him but Tobey said he was good. He had not spoken to Geoffrey in a couple days and was happy to see the face of his best friend again.
Tobey walked into the bathroom and began fixing his hair. It normally did its own thing, and never cooperated with him, but today was different. It did not stick up like normal, and fell across his face at a perfect angle.
The scar on his cheek was also healing nicely, but the doctor said there will always be a scar. Something that he would see every day, which would bring his mind right back to Jade.
He sprayed a tiny bit of cologne on before turning off the light in the bathroom, then going into the living room to go wait for Geoffrey.
The clock said 7:08pm.
