Today it was sunny and hot. Lapis and Peridot were sitting by the pond, Lapis was dipping her feet in the water. Peridot sat next to the blue gem, looking into the water.

Lapis was looking at Peridot, studying her face once again. The ocean gem noticed the shape of Peridot's nose, studying every detail. It was Lapis' goal to remember every detail of Peridot's face.

The blue gem then studied her lips, which were perfect for kissing. Lapis thought of how soft they were on her own. The thought of Peridot's kisses brought a smile on her own lips.

Lapis' eyes drifted to Peridot's chin. It was pointed perfectly, and the blue gem resisted the urge to touch it. Lapis' blue eyes then looked at Peridot's eyes.

They were a beautiful dark green. They had this.. sparkle in them that Lapis adored. The blue gem wanted her to remove her visor so she could fully see the color and sparkle.

Lapis studied Peridot's gem next, it had soft, round edges. Lapis had never touched Peridot's gem, maybe she should sometime. The water gem began to space out, staring at Peridot.

Suddenly she felt a pair of eyes on her.

"Lazuli?"

Lapis looked away, looking into the pond. A dark blue blush settled on Lapis' face. She knew Peridot was still staring.

"Lazuli you seemed deep in concentration, what were you looking at?" Peridot asked, nudging Lapis' shoulder. "Nothing." Lapis replied, hiding her blushing face. "You were too." Peridot said.

"I was just.... looking." Lapis said, glancing at the green gem. "At what?" Peridot asked, smirking. "You.." Lapis said quietly, pursing her lips.

"You were staring pretty hard." Peridot chuckled. Lapis felt her face heat up and she shook her head. "Don't deny it Lazuli." Peridot smiled.

"I was just... looking at you." Lapis said quietly. "No, it appears you were hmm I don't know.... studying my face. Why Lazuli?" Peridot asked, tilting her head. "Because I wanted to... I don't know." Lapis muttered.

Peridot smiled at Lapis, "There has to be a reason." The small gem said. Lapis grumbled and blushed. "Well?" Peridot nagged.

"It's just... um...." Lapis trailed off. "It's just what?" Peridot smiled. "I uh...." Lapis stammered.

Peridot stared at Lapis, waiting for her to answer. The green gem had a small smirk on her face.

"Ireallylikeyourface." Lapis said quickly, blushing heavily. The blue gem looked at Peridot. She looked confused.

"You what? You talk too fast." Peridot said. Lapis sighed and looked away, "I really like your face." The water gem said clearly. Peridot felt her smirk turn into a small smile.

The green gem's face began to heat up and a blush creeped up on her. "Wow, thanks." Peridot finally said, struggling to find words. Lapis nodded, looking at Peridot.

"Hey Lazuli?" Peridot asked as Lapis moved her feet in the water. "Yes?" Lapis asked. Peridot looked into the water, blushing.

"I really like your face too."

Lapis felt herself blush even more. The ocean gem felt a smile tug at her lips and she couldn't hold it. She busted out into a huge grin.

Lapis then squeezed Peridot close. "Thanks Peri." The blue gem said. "And Lazuli?" Peridot said.

"Y-yes Peridot?" Lapis asked, burying her face into Peridot's neck. It took the small gem a minute, Lapis wondered why.

"I love you."
