"Lazuli are you sure about this?" Peridot asked. "Yes, it's for the best." Lapis said. "If you say so.." The green gem muttered.
Peridot then stuck the sign in the ground, making Lapis smile. "There, now the humans will stay away." The blue gem grinned. Peridot sighed and read the sign.
Humans, stay away and DO NOT mess with the gemlings unless you want to drown!
You could barely read the last part, as they were running out of room. They made the sign from a spare piece of wood, and Peridot used the paint from the paint cans to put the words on it. Obviously Lapis chose what words were put on it.
"Lazuli I just don't know." Peridot said. "What do you mean, it'll keep those stupid humans from coming here and messing with the gemlings!" Lapis said, looking down at Peridot. "I know, but it just doesn't seem right." Peridot replied, looking at the sign.
"I don't understand." Lapis said. "I think it will upset Steven." Peridot said. "Peri you're so silly, Steven won't be upset! He's the only human allowed here." Lapis smiled.
"No, that's not what I meant. What I meant is he will be upset we put such a threat here." Peridot said, gesturing to the word 'drown'. "It's fine, this is our barn anyway!" Lapis said. "I suppose you're right." Peridot sighed.
"Now I've gotta get back in the barn and check on the gemlings." Lapis said, walking past Peridot. The small gem watched as Lapis walked into the barn, then followed her.
The gemlings were on the mattress. Bob was playing with Lapis' stuffed dolphin while Perry aggressively chewed a pillow. "Perry no!" Lapis exclaimed, picking the gemling up.
Perry grunted and looked away from Lapis. "Don't play that game with me." Lapis giggled, gently poking Perry's side. The green gemling looked at Lapis, earning her a kiss on the forehead.
Lapis then sat Perry back down on the mattress and picked up Bob. "Hi, you." She grinned, giving the blue gemling a kiss on the forehead. Peridot watched, a tiny smile on her face.
Bob chirped happily, reaching out and gently squeezing Lapis' nose. The ocean gem laughed, setting Bob back down on the mattress. Peridot then took a seat next to her.
"You're too cute, Lazuli." The green gem smiled. "It's the gemlings." Lapis blushed. "They're cute too, you're all cute." Peridot said.
"That includes you too." Lapis grinned, kissing Peridot's cheek. The small gem blushed and shook her head. "Yes." Lapis giggled.
The ocean gem stared at Peridot for a few moments, her eyes full of love. She then lay her head in Peridot's lap. The green gem smiled, playing with Lapis' hair.
Almost immediately the gemlings cuddled next to Lapis. The blue gem pulled them close to her, smiling. Peridot continued to play with Lapis' hair, still smiling.
Perry watched Peridot curiously. The green gemling tilted her head, watching as Peridot wrapped a strand of Lapis' hair around one of her fingers. Perry then crawled over, looking up at Peridot.
"Hey there." Peridot chuckled. Perry chirped in response, gently taking some of Lapis' hair in her little hand. Peridot chuckled some more and ran her fingers through Lapis' hair.
Perry curiously toyed with Lapis' blue hair. The gemling seemed to like the color. She then put it in her mouth, wondering if she could eat it.
"No, no." Peridot said, tapping the gemling's cheek. Perry spat Lapis' hair out and glared at Peridot.
"Did she try to eat my hair?" Lapis asked, giggling. "Yes." Peridot replied. Perry crawled back over to Bob, laying next to her.
"You are silly." Lapis giggled, poking Perry's cheek. The green gemling let out purr like noise and closed her eyes. "Cute." Lapis smiled.
Peridot grinned and looked at Lapis. The ocean gem looked so happy right now. "I love you, Lazuli." Peridot smiled.
"I love you too, my Peri." Lapis grinned. Peridot chuckled and twirled another strand of Lapis' hair around her finger. Lapis sighed happily and closed her blue eyes.
The water gem cuddled the gemlings close. The gemlings were almost both asleep. Peridot smiled and stopped playing with Lapis' hair.
Peridot then lay next to Lapis, cuddling close. A tiny smile graced the blue gem's lips. Lapis then planted a gentle kiss on Peridot's cheek.
Peridot smiled, blushing. She took one last look at Lapis before she closed her eyes. Soon enough they had all fallen asleep.

"Peridot!" Lapis yelled, shaking the green gem. "W-what?!" Peridot asked, frightened. "PeridotIcantfindPerry!" Lapis said quickly, panic in her eyes.
"Wait, breath." Peridot said, gently placing her hand on Lapis' shoulder. "I-I can't find Perry." The blue gem said. "Is Bob still here?" Peridot then asked.
"Yes." Lapis nodded, gesturing to the blue gemling. "Okay then, don't worry. We will find Perry." Peridot smiled. The green gem then gently kissed Lapis' cheek in hopes to calm her down.
"Was she gone when you woke up?" Peridot asked. "Y-Yes.." Lapis replied. "Hmm... we'll look around the barn." Peridot said, standing.
Lapis stood, picking Bob up as she did so. "Let's just walk around the barn first." Peridot said, looking back at Lapis. "No, I already did that." Lapis said.
"Oh? Where all did you look?" Peridot asked. "Around the barn, inside the barn, the pond, I walked for a while just looking.." Lapis said, much worry in her voice. "Well how about we just walk around some more." Peridot suggested.
"I guess we can.." Lapis said quietly, looking at the ground. "Alright, let's go." Peridot smiled, walking past Lapis. The ocean gem followed, hugging Bob close.
About ten minutes had passed, and there were no signs of Perry. Lapis was on the verge of tears now. The blue gem was trying her hardest to keep herself together.
"Hey, don't cry." Peridot said, taking Lapis' hand in her own. "I can't help it Peri, I'm worried." Lapis sniffled, tears rolling down her cheeks. Peridot wiped the tears, gently squeezing Lapis' hand.
"It'll be okay, we will find her. Are there any places we haven't checked yet?" Peridot said. Lapis took a moment to think, recalling all of the places she and Peridot had checked. The blue gem nodded, pointing to the tower next to the barn.
"Why don't you fly up there, I'll take Bob." Peridot said. "Okay.." Lapis said, handing Bob to Peridot. Her water wings then outstretched.
Lapis flew to the tower, looking carefully. She was just about to give up when she saw a little green something on the ground. Quickly, she landed.
Lapis walked over to it, wiping her tears. "Perry!" She exclaimed, a smile on her face. The gemling was sleeping next to the tower.
With a grumble Perry opened her eyes. The gemling stared up at Lapis. Lapis then grabbed her, hugging her tightly.
Perry grunted in protest, trying to squirm away. Lapis laughed and kissed the gemling's cheek. She then hurried back to Peridot.
"You found her!" Peridot grinned. "She must've snuck out of the barn and fallen asleep by the tower!" Lapis laughed. "I told you we'd find her. Now let's head back to the barn." Peridot chuckled.
So they walked home hand in hand, gemling in the other.
