After the train left the station, Jack and Mark were both sitting across from each other, watching the trees from the nearby forests move right below them.

Then, Effie came over to them.

"Why don't you boys go and take a look around the train?" Effie asked. "This is where you'll be living for the next several days."
"No thanks, we will when we get tired tonight." Mark responded.
"Oh, well okay then." Effie said. "Well just so you know, the car next door is the dining area and this is the lounge area, and tonight, you two, Signe and I will be watching Caesar's broadcast about the reaping ceremonies to see who you'll be competing against,"
"Do we have to?" Jack asked.
"It will be beneficial to you both." Effie responded.
Mark sighed. "Alright, we'll join you both tonight."
"Wonderful!" Effie smiled before leaving the train car.

Jack looked at Mark.

"I really don't want to watch the moment that we both got reaped in our district." Jack said.
"Believe me, I don't want to either." Mark responded. "But if what Effie said was true, then I guess we'll have to watch it."
"I just can't believe this year's Hunger Games is a celebrity-based one." Jack said. "Because we're the ones who keep everybody away from all the negative thoughts and the Capitol decides to take us away from them."
"And besides, even if one of us wins, the winner will probably have PTSD from fighting in the games and just won't ever be the same again." Mark added.
"Plus there has already been revolts going around about the game." Signe suddenly chimed in from across the room. "The districts who are not affected by the games are apparently revolting against the Capitol for this idea with everybody else."
"What will that mean?" Jack asked.
"Nothing..." Signe responded. "The Capitol won't do anything about the situation. Districts have been revolting every year about the games, and the Capitol just ignores it. Not giving a damn that people are dying for amusement."
"Oh..." Jack sighed. "I really thought you were going to say a good outcome out of that situation."
"Sorry, but the only good outcome that will come from the games is, if you make it out alive." Signe stated. "Even if you make it out, it's not a good outcome. You'd want to wish you were dead like everybody else."
"Is that how you felt when you made it out alive?" Mark asked.

Signe was silent for a moment before leaving the room, not answering Mark's question. Jack looked at Mark, Mark regretting even asking that question.

Later on that night, Signe, Effie, Jack and Mark were gathered in the lounge car watching the television as Caesar Flickerman came on the television.

"Good evening Panem and welcome to the annual Hunger Games, my name is Caesar Flickerman along with my fellow co-host Claudius Templesmith." Caesar began. "We are just days away from the arrival of the tributes to the Capitol for this year's games and everybody from the Capitol is awaiting to see who this year's tributes are."
"Well, thanks to the recordings of the reapings from each of the selected districts, we will get to see first hand who these people are." Claudius announced,

Suddenly, the Hunger Games logo appeared along with the words "District 2" in big letters across the screen. Jack and Mark immediately looked away as their faces from earlier today were shown on the television.

"The two selected celebrity tributes, and I should say the only two celebrities in this district, are Sean William McCloughlin and Mark Edward Fischbach." Caesar stated. "These two tributes are known for their hilarious commentary in the gaming industry."
"But what I believe to be a huge advantage over the other districts is that the people in District 2 were trained to use weaponry while they were growing up." Claudius stated. "And even though these two young men are way beyond their years of making and using weapons in their district, with their past knowledge, they could be able to properly use these weapons and possibly win the games."

Jack and Mark looked at each other as they heard those words. Jack smirked a smile and even grew a little more confident. Even though he doesn't remember much about weapons, he did remember how to use them and even build weapons out of different objects. Maybe Claudius was right, maybe they did have an advantage.

"I think we might be able to do this..." Jack said.
"Not really..." Mark said. "I was the slacker when it came to learning about these things, I don't remember anything about it."
"Well then Sean will just have to teach you." Effie remarked.
"Please... call me Jack..." Jack said.
"I have been told to call each tribute by their proper names, no nicknames, nothing." Effie responded. "And as I said before, when we arrive at the Capitol and start practice, Sean will teach you how to use and build weapons so this way, you both can have the same knowledge and have the advantage that Claudius was just explaining about."
"Alright, fine... I'll do it..." Mark said.

As they continued watching, the next district announced was District 3. There, a guy named Ken and another guy named Felix, who happened to be the most famous entertainer in Panem, were selected. Then, they skipped district 4 for some apparent reason and went to district 5, where two guys from the same entertainment group Supermega, Matt and Ryan, were selected for the games. Then, two people from district 6 who were well known to Mark and Jack, Bob and Wade, were selected.

"No... No way am I fighting Bob or Wade!" Mark responded. "They're like my best buds!"
"Well then maybe you could have an alliance with the two of them." Effie stated. "But what's going to happen if the four of you are the only ones left?"
"I doubt that." Mark said.
"Answer the question!" Effie stated.
"Alright, I get it!" Mark exclaimed.

The group continued watching the television as the tributes from District 9 were announced. One whose name was Matthias and the other who was the least well known entertainer out of everybody named Robert. Neither Caesar nor Claudius had anything really to say about him. They didn't even decide whether he seemed like a good fighter for the games or not.

"Finally, probably one of the most surprising reapings I have ever witnessed in the Hunger Games." Caesar announced. "A young man by the name of Daniel Howell volunteered to be a tribute alongside the young man selected beforehand, Phil Lester. Luckily, Daniel was an entertainer himself and could qualify as a tribute for this year's games."
"I feel like this will become a bad situation for the two of them, Caesar." Claudius claimed. "Because with the two of them being good friends, maybe even more than that by the looks of the footage, it could hurt how they get sponsors and play in the Hunger games."
"Well I'm sure most of these tributes know each other very well, Claudius." Caesar agreed. "But unfortunately, there's no way of changing the tributes for the games now, and they'll just have to face eventually killing one another during these games."

Caesar then concluded the broadcast and Hunger Games music was played in the background.

With that, Mark and Jack decided to go to their bedrooms and try to get some rest.

AUTHOR'S NOTE!

Starting next chapter, I will be including other POVs from the other tributes as well! I may not do all of them, I may do some of the important characters. I'll try to do all of them if I can but some of them will probably only have their POV shown once or twice throughout the story.

More to come!
