Ryan

Ryan was was sitting in his room. His elbows to his knees and his hands on his face, nearly sobbing. He couldn't believe he was stuck in some weird room after all that he's done in the games. All the emotions he felt during the games were no longer there. Instead, he felt terrified and scared. He didn't know what was going to happen. He's been there for hours now.

Suddenly, the door swung open and three guards came in, pinning him to his bed. One of the guards kept him down while another guard tied his hands behind his back.

"Wh-What're you doing to me? What's going on?" Ryan asked.

They didn't respond. Instead they put cloth around his mouth to keep him from speaking. They then picked him up and took him down the hallway and into another room and pushed him down to the floor before slamming the door behind him.

As he sat up, his eyes widened as he noticed Phil sitting on the bed, looking down at him.

And on the bed was a gun.

Phil

Phil's heart raced as he noticed Ryan sitting right beside him. His hands tied behind his back and cloth covering his mouth. Ryan let out a few moans as he noticed the gun sitting right beside the bed.

Everything he had said in the games, everything he said about killing Ryan after he had killed Dan in the games had come back to him. But at this point and time, he wasn't sure whether he wanted to do it now or not. Phil could tell by the look on Ryan's face that he was scared.

Or was it all just an act?

His mind suddenly began racing with the images of Ryan killing Dan again and Dan dying in his arms. He began rocking back and forth and tears started forming in his eyes.

He then looked at Ryan, walked over to him and took off the cloth from his mouth.

"D-D-Don't kill me please!" Ryan begged.

Phil didn't say anything. He just stood up and walked back over to the bed and sat down.

"Didn't you hear me?" Ryan asked. "I said please don't kill me."
"I heard you..." Phil mumbled. "I just don't know what to do."
"Phil, whatever I was feeling during the games is gone now." Ryan explained. "I feel terrible for killing all those people, including Dan."

Phil looked over at Ryan. Tears were strolling down his face, but at the same time, he was also angry.

"Then why did you keep me alive?" Phil asked, his voice trembling. "Why did you  let me live to watch Dan die in my arms?"
"I don't know..." Ryan responded. "I don't even know the answer to half of the things I did!"
"Do you understand how badly I wanted to kill you after all that?" Phil asked. "I still have that feeling."
Ryan cried and nodded. "I understand if you want to kill me, just do it then..."

Phil's lips trembled as he continued crying. The feeling of killing Ryan came back to him every time the memory of him killing Dan came into his mind. But for those split few seconds he wasn't thinking of that, he was thinking of not killing him.

Then, his mind was thinking of something else. The same few words that Ryan told him after attacking Dan.

Phil turned and faced Ryan.

"No..." Phil responded. "Because you deserve to suffer..."

Phil then took the gun from his bed and went over to the doorway. He noticed the slit at the bottom of the doorway was big enough to slide the gun under. So he placed the gun on the floor and kicked it out of the doorway.

Jack

Jack and Signe were sitting and continuing to eat. Jack had already gotten up for seconds and even some thirds.

"You were really hungry." Signe said.
"You bet I was." Jack responded.

As Jack continued eating, he noticed another person coming into the buffet area. He smiled as he recognized that red-haired man.

It was Mark.

He went over to him and gave him a big hug.

"Thank god you're alright!" Jack said.
"I can say the same to you!" Mark responded.
"Did they do anything to you?" Jack asked.
"No... They just let me come and get something to eat." Mark said.

Jack let Mark go and grab some food before heading back over to sit with them.

"Is this where we'll be living at for the rest of our lives?" Mark asked. "Since everybody thinks we're dead?"
"I dunno..." Signe shrugged. "They might let you go back to your Districts under strict rules."
"But not as victors?" Jack asked.
"Sadly, no..." Signe answered.
"So basically, the games were pointless this year?" Mark asked.
"No it did have a point." Signe responded. "For experimenting."
"So they just took the last few remaining people and just used us for experiments?" Mark asked.
Signe nodded.
"I wonder what kind of crazy experiments we'll be used for?" Jack wondered.
"Maybe you two won't be used at all." Signe responded. "Who the hell knows?"

Just then, another person came into the buffet area. Only instead of getting food, he sat down right on the other side of the table.

It was Phil.

Jack went over and sat down next to him.

"Phil, what's wrong?" Jack asked.
"Nothing..." Phil responded. "They don't want me saying anything."
"Was it for an experiment?" Jack asked. Phil nodded.

Jack looked over at Mark and Signe. They were scared after seeing how Phil looked after what they did to him.

They were hoping they wouldn't be the same way.
