NO POV

The next night was the final night before the games, it was also the night that each of the tributes would appear on the Caesar Flickerman show for one last opportunity to show who they were to the Capitol before the games.

"Welcome to the Caesar Flickerman show, with your host, Caesar Flickerman!" The announcer exclaimed over the speakers.

All of the audience members went crazy as he appeared on the stage.

Mark

Mark was first to go onto the stage. He waited patiently as he was being introduced. After his name was called, he went onto the stage, shook Caesar's hand and sat down.

"So, Mark," Caesar began. "That was quite a score you received last night. Congratulations."
"Thank you," Mark nodded, "I'm very happy with the score."
"You're not jealous of your other friend for scoring one point higher than you, are you?" Caesar asked.
"It's only one point ahead of me," Mark shrugged, "it's not really bugging me much."
"That's good to know." Caesar responded, a small applause from the audience.

Jack

Jack watched as Caesar and Mark were being interviewed. After a few moments, Caesar stood up, shook Mark's hand and Mark left the stage.

Jack went backstage to prepare himself for his interview. Mark exchanged a quick look with him before leaving the backstage area.

"And now, we welcome our next guest, the second tribute from District 2, Sean McCloughlin!" Caesar announced.

Jack walked onto the stage, shook Caesar's hand and sat down.

"First off, I would like to congratulate you on being the highest scoring tribute with the sponsors and the judges," Caesar began, "a score of 10! How does that feel?"
"It really surprised me," Jack explained, "but I felt great because that shows I worked hard."
"Surprised you how?" Caesar asked.
Jack shrugged, "I'm not going to say much, but I just thought I'd get a lower score for some reason."
"Well, you know what they say, never let doubt be your enemy." Caesar explained.

Felix

After a few more minutes, Jack left the stage and it was Felix's turn. He waited for Caesar to call his name and he went onto the stage. He didn't shake Caesar's hand, but he did pull him in for a "manly hug" before sitting down.

"My, you seem awfully enthusiastic." Caesar stated.
"Well, I'm just trying to make the best of it, sir." Felix responded.
"Even though your scores weren't the best?" Caesar asked.
"Scores have nothing to do with it." Felix stated, "it's what happens on the field that matters."
"Very true indeed." Caesar responded.

Ken

After Felix left the stage, Ken was introduced onto the stage. He shook Caesar's hand and sat down.

"So like your friend Felix, you scored a 5 with the judges," Caesar stated, "how do you feel about that?"
"Kinda bummed," Ken said, "But maybe there's a chance that can all change on the field."
"I must ask you this, if I may," Caesar began, "Would you think that you and your friend drinking constantly would have to do with your scores being that low?"
Ken sighed, "Well, we've actually drank less since we first arrived here thanks to our mentor, so no, I don't think so."
"I see..." Caesar responded.

Dan

After Ken had left the stage, Caesar introduced Dan onto the stage. Dan smiled and waved to the audience, shook Caesar's hand and sat down.

"I must say, you have been quite the talk throughout the Capitol ever since you volunteered as tribute back at the reaping," Caesar explained, "what made you decide to volunteer?"
"Well," Dan began, "Phil means the world to me, we were practically inseparable back in District 4, so when his name was called at the reaping, I knew I didn't want him to be alone or with someone else in this."
"Have you sort of been a mentor to him these past few weeks?" Caesar asked.
"I wouldn't say a mentor," Dan explained, "but I have helped him become more independent since we began training."
"But are you two very much in a relationship?" Caesar asked.
"Yes, we are." Dan nodded.

The audience awed and applauded.

Phil

As Dan finished and went backstage, Phil approached him and embraced him tightly.

"You'll do great out there." Dan whispered in his ear.

Phil then gave Dan a kiss on the cheek before letting go and approaching the stage. Caesar then introduced him and Phil came out on stage.

"So I have just got done talking with Dan." Caesar began.
"I watched the whole thing." Phil responded.
"Do you agree with everything he has said?" Caesar asked.
"Yes." Phil nodded.
"Now, I want to ask you this important question," Caesar said, "If anything were to happen to Dan during these games, what would you do?"

Phil's heart pounded out of his chest. That could mean anything. Caesar didn't mention anything about death, he may have also meant if they were separated.

"I-I guess I would continue on." Phil responded.

Matt

Matt was introduced moments after Phil had left the stage. He sat down next to Caesar.

"So how have thing with Ryan and you been?" Caesar asked, "I've heard that you two haven't quite gotten along."
"It is what it is, I guess." Matt responded.

Ryan

Caesar asked the same thing to Ryan when he was on stage with him.

"We haven't really been good friends, but we're not bitter enemies either." Ryan responded.
"If it came down to it, would you actually create an alliance with Matt?" Caesar asked.

Ryan just shrugged.

Matthias

Matthias was in the green room when suddenly, two people came into the room.

"Matthias, you're up now!" The one person said.
"I thought the two people from district 6 were supposed to be on?" Matthias asked.
"They boycotted the show," The second person claimed, "come on we have to go!"

Matthias rushed through the backstage area and onto the stage.

"I'm sorry about having to rush you," Caesar said, "I'm sure you're just as confused as I am."
"The sooner the better I guess." Matthias responded.

Caesar then began the real interview.

"So you have a wife and a child, correct?" Caesar asked.
"Yes," Matthias nodded.
"Do you hope to win so that you can return to them?" Caesar asked.
"I do," Matthias claimed, "But if this game really affects me afterwards if I do end up winning, then I'm not sure how it'll work out. But you gotta have some faith you know?"
"I completely agree..." Caesar mumbled.

Robert

Robert was the last person to go onto the stage.

"I've heard a lot of good things about you, young man," Caesar said, "And yet most of Panem probably doesn't even know who exactly you are as an entertainer."
"I mainly write and sing music," Robert explained, "Even though I didn't really have much of an audience I was still considered eligible for the games."
"Are you nervous at all?" Caesar asked.
"I don't think anybody is not nervous," Robert explained, "I'm still trying to remain as confident as I can for this game."
"Well, I'm sure with your score of 9, you're probably very confident."
"Yes, yes I am." Robert smiled.

Caesar wished him luck and Robert left the stage. Caesar then concluded the interviews and the show was now over.

All that was left now were the games.
