Jack

Phil pointed the gun at Jack's face. His heart began to race.

"Phil, don't shoot... I didn't do this..." Jack assured him.
"I don't care!" Phil exclaimed, his voice still shaking. "I need to get my anger out somehow!"
"Phil I'm here to help." Jack said. "I'm not going to do anything to you."
"What in the hell could you possibly do to help?" Phil asked. "Usually when a tribute dies, the others just breathe a sigh of relief because there's one less person to worry about."
"I'm not that kind of person, trust me." Jack told him. "I feel terrible for you, and I just want to offer you some support."
"How?" Phil asked.

Jack looked ahead of him, noticing a group of daisies. He then went over, grabbed a handful and went back to Phil.

"These daisies are beautiful, aren't they?" Jack asked. Phil nodded. "Why don't we put them around him?"

Phil didn't say anything, he only nodded. Phil and Jack then both went over to the group of daisies and gathered as many as they could and surrounded them around Dan's body. Phil then took the last group of daisies and put Dan's hands over them, as if he were holding them. Phil then leaned in and kissed Dan's forehead.

(A/N: I know this is exactly like what happens in the Hunger Games movie, but you'll see why I did this later on in the story!)

The two of them sat in silence for a moment, then Phil spoke up.

"I still want to kill you... But not yet." Phil said. "I want to try and kill this bastard first that killed Dan."
"I have my own sort of revenge to get to, as well." Jack agreed. "So how about we do this? Once you get your revenge, and I get mine, and if we're both alive, we can meet up again, and you can kill me?"
"You seriously want to do that?" Phil asked.
"Only one can make it out." Jack nodded.
Phil sighed, "I'll think about it."

Phil and Jack then both stood up. They then faced each other and shook hands.

"Thank you." Phil said.
"No problem." Jack said.

The two of them then parted ways.

Jack continued walking when he came across a fresh water lake. There, right in front of him was Robert. He seemed to be washing his face and getting water.

Jack then quietly approached him from behind. But he didn't take out any weapons. Instead, he kicked Robert into the water. Robert came out from the water confused but then he noticed Jack standing there.

"That's for leaving me behind during the fire." Jack stated.
"You're still alive?" Robert asked.
"I was badly burned." Jack explained. "But I managed to get some things."
"Oh..." Robert responded.
"You're lucky I decided not to kill you." Jack said. "I was going to, but..."
"But what?" Robert asked.
"Nevermind..." Jack said.

Jack then helped Robert out of the water.

"Next time, don't leave me behind." Jack said.
"So what? You want me to wait for you and risk death?" Robert asked.
"Isn't that what partners are supposed to do?" Jack asked.
"Not in this situation." Robert responded.
"Do you not even feel one bit of sorrow for leaving me behind?" Jack asked.
"I felt a little bit of it, but then I figured I should just suck it up and move on." Robert responded.

Jack seriously wanted to just take out his pocket knives and end it right there. But for some reason, he didn't.

"Alright, you're right." Jack said. "There's a friend I've been wanting to look for, how about we go look for him?"
"How do you know he's not dead?" Robert asked.
"I guess we won't know until tonight, huh?" Jack asked.
Robert sighed, "alright, we'll look for about an hour and then set up camp for the night."

Jack nodded and they went to go and search for Mark. They found no sign of him during that hour searching for him and it began to grow dark. They decided to set up camp for the night. None of the two of them spoke a word that entire night. They didn't say who was going to be guarding or anything important like that. But when Jack noticed Robert already asleep, Jack decided he would stay up and look out for anybody.

Suddenly, he noticed the Hunger Games symbol in the sky above him and music beginning to play. They showed the pictures of the three tributes that died.

Felix, from District 3
Wade, from District 6
And Dan, from District 4

It got Jack wondering how Phil was doing at that very moment.

Phil

Phil was able to find the cave that Dan and him stayed in the night before. As he went inside, he felt emotions swell up inside of him. He didn't have anybody to keep him company or keep him safe anymore. It was all up to him.

As he was about to fall asleep, he heard music and he looked out from the cave, noticing the Hunger Games symbol followed by the words "The Fallen". He noticed the first tribute was the one that Dan had killed, and the second one was probably the one that died from the bullets. Phil's emotions then set off again as he saw Dan's face appear as the final fallen tribute.

Phil then went back into the cave and just laid there, beginning to cry some more.

"I'm sorry Dan, I'm sorry..." Phil cried quietly to himself.

Jack

Jack woke up early that next morning to the sound of a thumping noise. He looked around while still laying down, confused of the noise. He then noticed a rock being thrown at a hive. It was a tracker jacker hive. He knew he had to get out of there.

He looked over at Robert, who was still asleep.

"Robert, Robert!" Jack whispered, shaking him up, he didn't budge.

Suddenly, as he looked up again, he noticed the tracker jacker hive falling right near them. As soon as it hit the ground, the hive exploded and tons of tracker jackers started buzzing towards them.

Jack and Robert both immediately got up. Jack quickly grabbed his things. Robert tried to grab his things but was beginning to get swarmed by tracker jackers. As Jack was grabbing his bag, a few tracker jackers started stinging him as well. But most of them went over to Robert.

Jack then began to run in another direction, but was suddenly stopped as he heard Robert screaming for help.

"JACK! HELP ME!" He screamed.

Jack stood there for a few moments when he suddenly could feel himself getting dizzy from the effects of the tracker jackers. But he knew from the swarm of tracker jackers covering Robert, there was nothing he could do.

"Karma is a bitch, Robert!" Jack exclaimed back to him.

Jack then began running off, leaving Robert behind.

As Jack continued to run, he felt himself running in all sorts of directions as he became more dizzy by the second. He then could hear himself breathing heavily.

But then, he heard something else, a voice.

It was Mark.

Jack! JACK!!

He then noticed a figure approaching him. It had red hair just like Mark.

"Mark" Jack mumbled to himself.

Suddenly, he felt himself falling over and blacking out.
