Phil

Phil walks through a wooded area, all alone and scared. He didn't know where he was going, he was just hoping to find someone and fast.

Moments later, he felt relief cross over him and a grin come across his face as he noticed Dan just feet away from him. He ran over to him and thrusted his arms around him.

"Oh my god, thank god you're alright!" Phil smiled, almost growing emotional. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Dan looked at him, a serious look on his face.

"What's going on?" Phil asked. "What happened?"
"It's just you and me Phil..." Dan said.

Phil's heart began racing and he grew scared again.

"No..." Phil said shaking his head. "I'm not killing you, Dan..."
"Who said anything about you killing me?" Dan asked.

Phil's eyes grew wide as Dan retrieved a knife from his pocket and raised it.

"No... Dan..." Phil choked. "Don't do this, please!"
"I'm sorry, Phil..." Dan said.

Phil then began running but Dan tackled him to the ground. Phil began screaming, crying and begging for mercy.

Just then, Phil opened his eyes. Darkness surrounded him as he realized he had been dreaming. He felt tears trickling down his cheeks. He noticed somebody gripping his forearm next to him.

It was Dan.

"Phil, are you alright?" Dan asked concerned.
"I-I dunno..." Phil stuttered.

He laid his bed back on the pillow, suddenly beginning to sob.

"I still can't believe you did that, Dan..." Phil said. "Now I'm having nightmares about us having to kill each other, I can't do that, Dan!"

Phil was interrupted by the sound of Dan calmly shushing him.

"It's okay, I'm alright... I'm right here..." Dan whispered calmly in his ear, wrapping his arm around Phil's waist. Dan could feel Phil shaking, but then beginning to shake less as he comforted him.

"I-I'm sorry..." Phil said.
"It's alright, Phil..." Dan said. "I know how you feel..."

Phil turned over to Dan.

"Then why did you do it then?" Phil asked. "Why did you volunteer yourself at the reaping?"
"Because I didn't want to stay here and possibly watch you die." Dan said.
"Well, now you'll actually be watching me die right in front of you..." Phil choked. "Or even worse... I'll watch you die."
"Phil, no matter what happens, one of us needs to keep going." Dan said.
"I don't know if I'll be able to, Dan..." Phil said.
"Phil, what that guy Claudius said was true..." Dan explained. "The fact that you and I are together will possibly hurt us."
"Are you saying we need to end our relationship?" Phil asked.
"No... No I would never do that." Dan explained. "What I mean is, we need to try and work separately when we start training. This way, we can gain trust for sponsors and have a better chance at both of us surviving the games."
"I-I guess you have a point." Phil said.
"Just think Phil, we'll be spending at least 75% of these next few weeks together, and the rest we'll be spending it separately and training." Dan said. "We can do this, Phil, you just gotta have faith..."

Phil took a deep breath and sighed.

"Okay..." Phil said. "You're right... I'm sorry I scared you."
"Phil, I'm scared too..." Dan said. "But we just need to motivate each other."

Phil was silent for a moment before thinking about the dream he had.

"Dan... What if we do end up being the last two people?" Phil asked. "What will happen then?"
"I wouldn't worry about that right now..." Dan responded.

Phil knew he wouldn't stop thinking about it, but for Dan's sake, he would try to not think about it.

Phil suddenly heard Dan humming a tune that he always used to play on the piano. He hadn't heard Dan hum in the longest time. But it soothed him.

Eventually, he grew tired and fell asleep. As he was half asleep, he felt Dan's lips against his cheek. He smirked a smile, it felt nice.

Felix

Felix and Ken decided to "celebrate" their reaping by doing shots. It was a typical game. Whoever could drink the most shots would win. Felix was already at ten, and he could already feel the affects of the alcohol, but he could tell Ken wasn't backing down.

Just as Felix and Ken were about to take their next shot, their mentor, who was nicknamed Cry, came out to the two of them flat-out drunk.

"What the hell are you two doing?" Cry asked.
"We're celebrating!" Ken slurred in his words. "Come and join us!"
"You know how bad this will make you guys look?" Cry asked.
"We're gonna die anyways, so why not?" Felix asked, also slurring in his words.
"Yeah, because you two will be known as the two assholes who didn't do shit when training!" Cry exclaimed.
"But what if our idiocy somehow makes us win?" Ken asked.
"I can guarantee you it won't." Cry stated.
"You never know!" Felix assured. "Different things happen every time!"
"We'll probably be in the history books!" Ken chuckled.

Cry rolled his eyes before taking the shot glasses away from them.

"Hey!" Ken said.
"You two get to bed!" Cry demanded. "It's almost midnight!"

The two of them grunted before finally getting up and slowly but surely going into their rooms. Little did Felix know he wasn't sleeping in his room...

... He was in the bathroom.

That part with Felix and Ken was just for giggles XD

Like I said, I will try and do different parts every so often in each chapter. But it might mostly be Mark and Jack's POV until the games actually start.

More to come!
