Wade

Mark and Wade continued searching for Wade's bag. Eventually, they stumbled across the black and red bag. Wade picked it up and looked into it, relieved that everything was still in there.

"What's in there?" Mark asked.
"Some important things." Wade answered.

The two of them found a log to sit on. Wade then reached into his bag and grabbed a can of soup.

"Soup?" Mark asked.
"That's not all." Wade responded. "There are sandwiches in here too."
"How did you get this stuff?" Mark asked.
"It was all in the bag." Wade responded. "There was only one bag that supposedly had supplies and food, the rest had just supplies. I somehow got lucky and managed to get it."
"Well that's good then." Mark responded. "You sure you don't mind sharing with me?"
"I don't mind at all." Wade said. "This stuff will go bad eventually anyways."
"Well, can we eat now?" Mark asked. "I'm kinda starving."
"Yeah." Wade nodded.

No POV

As Wade and Mark set up camp to cook some of the food, the people in the control room watched over them.

Seneca then looked down at one of the workers.

"Okay, set the trap over here." Seneca said pointing to an area right next to them. "If I'm correct, they're gonna go this way."

The worker then placed the trap right next to where Mark and Wade were sitting.

Mark

As Mark and Wade were eating, Mark began asking Wade some things.

"How did you manage to get away with not being interviewed by Caesar Flickerman?" Mark asked.
"Me and Bob just hid." Wade responded.
"Wouldn't the soldiers at the Capitol be looking for you?" Mark asked.
"They're not as smart, tough and bright as you think they would be." Wade responded. "We were hiding right next to them most of the time and they didn't even look in our direction."
"If you guys were able to hide that easily, then how come you guys still played in the games?" Mark asked.
"Well either way, we knew somehow we were going to die eventually, so we just decided to go in the arena and hide the same way we've been doing." Wade explained.
"Even with the tracker in your arm?" Mark asked. Wade nodded. "Wow... I must say I'm impressed."
Wade smirked a smile, "well with my good looks and incredible intellect anything can happen."
"Shut up Wade." Mark laughed.
"I'm kidding!" Wade joked.

The two of them sat silently for a few minutes as they finished the last of the food that they had eaten.

"Maybe, if you and I stick together, with the supplies and food you have, and with the weapons I have, we could actually win this." Mark said.
"Maybe we could." Wade nodded.

Wade then looked at Mark.

"But would you be willing to kill your friend?" Wade asked.
Mark sighed, "I don't even know if he's even alive."
"We haven't even heard a cannon blast since around midnight." Wade said.
"I know, I haven't either." Mark agreed. "But who knows who that person could be? They don't show any of the fallen until around nighttime."
"Well you shouldn't assume it's your friend that's the one that died." Wade said.
Mark sighed, "Even if he were alive, I still wouldn't kill him. I just hope he wouldn't do the same with me."

Wade then sighed and sat there for a moment before standing up.

"I didn't mean to end the conversation on a bad note." Wade said, "but I figured we should probably keep going until we find a good place to shelter for the night."
"Yeah." Mark said standing up, "I agree. Maybe this walk will clear my mind."

Wade lead the way as they continued walking through the woods. He noticed a large pack of leaves in the way, so he began pushing them out of the way.

All of a sudden, bullets began flying everywhere, hitting all parts of his body. Before Mark could even react to Wade being struck, Wade was already lying dead on the ground.

Mark was going to try and grab the bag from Wade's body but before he could even move an inch, bullets continued to fly. None of them hit him but Mark made a run for it. No matter how far he ran, the bullets still sounded like they were right next to him, but he didn't feel anything hit his body.

He then slid down the hill that lead down to the poisonous lake and continued running around the sandy area. He then sat down behind a rock, gasping for breath. As he settled down, he had realized the sound of the bullets had stopped. But he was scared to move from his spot.

As he looked ahead of him, he saw a break in the water where he could actually cross and get to the other side of the woods. Mark hesitantly and slowly got up to make sure the coast was clear before crossing the small area and making it to the other side of the woods safely.

No POV

Seneca paced up and down the area of the control room. His trap didn't go as he planned. He wanted both of the men dead, but he only got one.

"Sir, I think we have another shot here." A worker told him.

Seneca walked over to the worker.

"Two tributes are walking just a few miles North of the nearest tribute." The worker said.
"Well make sure they get to that tribute." Seneca said.

Sorry I left this on another cliffhanger!

Who do you think the Capitol is after this time?
Who do you think the one tribute is?
What do you think will happen?
