Author's Note:
So this is actually the third idea I had for this chapter. I know I'm terrible at making decisions but when I get ideas sometimes I just want to use them all. I'll post the second idea in the Random Passages as a tie-in to the last chapter. It won't be a chapter revisit though. I hope you enjoy it. Oh, and thanks for giving the Random Passages 1K reads! I really appreciate it! Thanks again for reading!
After we returned to London, I didn't go back to Pretty Green as I was still on my "maternity leave". NME kept me pretty busy with interviews and editing and I definitely enjoyed it.
One afternoon when I didn't have any assignments and Liam was off in Carnaby Street, Noel called and asked if I'd like to come to his for tea. Naturally, I said yes.
"Where's Sara?" I asked as I entered the house.
"Gone with her mates for a few days." Noel replied. "Left me and the boys-"
"Auntie Jules!" Sonny and Donovan yelled in unison as they came running towards me and jumped me in a hug.
"Hi guys!" I said as I wrapped an arm around each of them.
"Wanna watch us play football?" Donovan asked.
"Sure."
We took our tea outside. Noel and I sat at the table together watching the boys take turns with the soccer ball.
"So I hear there ain't gonna be a little Juliet Jr." He said.
"No there isn't." I replied.
"Bet Our Kid was relieved. You had him goin', you did."
"Well I didn't do it on purpose. At least, not to him."
"I know." He said. "I'm sorry about Tom. I couldn't believe it when-"
"Neither could I." I agreed. "So when's Sara getting back?"
He sighed. "Not soon enough. Bloody kids got me, OI!"
We both watched as Sonny and Donovan started arguing with each other over whose turn it was to be the goalie.
"Donovan's got to kick twice now!" Sonny whined.
"Donovan!" Noel barked. "Give Sonny that fuckin' ball right now or I'll take it and neither one of ya's gonna get to kick it! D'ya hear me?"
"Yes sir." Donovan said quietly before handing the ball to his little brother.
Noel tutted as he sat back in his chair.
Just then, I noticed someone was missing. "Where's the dog?" I asked as I looked around from my seat.
"Oh for fuck's sake!" Noel rolled his eyes. "Tommy? Tommy! Bloody-"
He shut up when Tommy came trotting back and lay down under the table at his feet. "They're all tryin' to start me up." He said. "They seriously know how to push my fuckin' buttons and..." He trailed off with a sigh.
I chuckled a little.
"It's not funny!"
"Yes it is!" I defended. "So what's the price of this here?" I asked as I held up my cup of tea.
"You what?" He said curiously.
"I have a feeling you invited me over here for more than just tea."
He sighed as he shook his head. "You know I'm no good at bein' the authoritative one when Sara's not here."
"And you think I am?" I asked.
"Ya do better than I fuckin' can!" He replied. "Plus I miss havin' ya around to help look after them."
"I miss looking after them too."
"What about after school? Just when Sara and I can't-"
"I'll have to talk to Liam first." I informed him. "You know that."
He nodded. "There's really no talkin' with him though, is there?" He said. "It's really just tellin' him how it's gonna be."
In a way he was right but I still knew I had to get Liam in just the right moment if I wanted him to listen.
So I waited until we were in bed...and brought out the lotion.
"What you gonna do with that?" He asked as he stared at the bottle.
"Wouldn't you like to know." I replied as I got situated on my elbows while I held the bottle and squeezed a little out and rubbed it between my index finger and thumb.
"I would, yeah. Please?"
I squeezed a little more onto the tip of my finger and rubbed it along his left collar bone.
"Is that all?" He asked with a chuckle when I was done.
"No." I said and then rubbed a little on his neck. Then his jaw bone.
"Blue?"
"Shh!" I told him as I put my fingers over his lips. I put some lotion in the palm of my hand with him watching me while I did it.
He spread his legs under the blankets preparing for what he expected to happen next.
I slid my hand under the covers and found his dick pretty well hard and twitching.
He sighed and closed his eyes as I began rubbing the lotion in.
"Liam?"
"Hmm?"
"I need to ask you something." I said.
"What's that?" He asked as he breathed out.
"Noel asked me to help with the boys-"
His eyes shot open. "He what?!"
"He wants me to help with their homework and stuff 'cuz-"
"No. No!"
I sighed. "Liam."
"Don't start that bollocks!" He said. "You're comin' back to the shop next week so Noel's lost his chance."
"I think you can manage without me." I replied.
"What?!"
I rolled my eyes. "Liam-"
"Don't Liam me! You work at my shop, in case you forgot. You're my assistant, yeah? And I need you. More than Our Kid does. He's just a lazy fucker who doesn't wanna look after his own kids. Just like before!"
"I don't think that's the case."
"Well I do!" He exclaimed. He took a breath and the look in his eyes changed to one of sadness. "C'mon, Blue! Please don't do this to me. I already have to share ya with the NME. And if ya go with our Noel I'll have to share ya even more. Can't I just have ya to me self for a bit?"
I quickly began thinking about it.
They always made it so difficult to choose.
