Chapter 195

            My phone lit up with the reminder at just the right time.

"We'll see yins later." I told Liam and Pat before I took off.

I sat in the car watching for Gene to come out of school. The side view mirror was at the perfect angle for me to keep an eye out.

He came out along with a crowd of other students. He chatted with a couple other boys for a couple minutes until he finally noticed the car.

"When'd ya get this?" He asked after he came up to the driver's side window.

The note in the envelope was short, sweet, and to the point.

Don't say I never gave you anything.

I got out of the car and handed him the keys.

"You're serious?" He said in disbelief.

"Yeah." I replied nodding my head. "You're taking us to Kentish Town."

"Kentish Town? What's in-"

"You'll find out when we get there."

We got in the car with Gene behind the wheel. He started the engine while I started the music.

"This should be Dad's song!" Gene remarked with a giggle.

I chuckled right with them while the song continued.

We walked up to the flat and I knocked on the front door.

"Alright!" Matt greeted us with that familiar Cester grin.

"Alright, man!" Gene beamed. "What ya doin' in London?"

We went inside and the boys caught up. Gene was all smiles and I was glad to see it.

"So my cousin's here in London and she's havin' a party tomorrow night." Matt informed us. "Costume party. Harry Potter. And she said I could bring whoever I want."

It sounded brilliant. "Fuck!" I exclaimed when I thought of something.

"What?" Gene asked curiously.

"We've got that Pretty Green party tomorrow night." I sighed.

"Oh fuck that, Jules!" He waved his hands at me. "Seriously! You should-"

"Gene." I said firmly.

Liam was buzzing around the house sorting his clothes out for the evening. "Where's our Gene?" He asked curiously.

Gene hadn't come out of his bedroom yet that day. I figured it was time to check on him.

"Are you okay?" I asked when I entered his bedroom.
