The morning sky hung heavy with that dreary light gray. I could see it was misting outside as I sat at the table looking out the window.
Liam was fast asleep as I opened the page to begin my next blog entry. I was at a loss for words and didn't know where to start.
He shuffled around on his side a bit keeping his back to me. He cleared his throat as he pulled the blankets up more over his shoulders.
"Turn the heat up, will ya?" He said softly. "Please?"
I breathed out quietly as I got up and went over to the thermostat. I pushed the increase button a couple times and heard the heater kick on.
"Why's it so cold in 'ere?" He asked looking at me as I walked back towards the table. "Have you got the window open?"
"No, Liam. I don't have the window open." I replied. "It's fall and it's raining."
"It's not rainin'!" He shook his head at the window.
"Well it's misting at least!" I took my seat back at the table.
Liam rolled over onto his back so he could look at me better. "Come back t'bed." He said as he rested his head on his arm. "Put Jet on hold for just a bit longer and-"
"I have to get this done." I told him before turning back to my computer.
But my mind was still blank. Still trying to process everything that happened the night before.
"You can't tell Liam about this!" I warned Nic as he led the way to the dressing room. "He'll be out for blood if you do!"
"Have you showered?" Liam spoke again.
I could see him staring at me out of the corner of my eye.
"Yeah." I informed him. I was in a t-shirt and sweatpants with my wet hair stuffed inside my knitted slouch hat. No makeup but I didn't really care. We were off to Hampstead in a couple hours so I really didn't see the point in dressing up to go home.
"But-"
Just then there was a quiet knock on the door. Liam gasped and pulled the blankets up over his chest.
"Who the fuck's that?!" He exclaimed.
"Just someone trying to pull pranks." I assured.
I didn't bother to go check and see. If it was a Cester (which I was sure it probably was) and they really needed something, they would've called. Or texted. Or gone way beyond just goofing around at the door.
Things were quiet for a bit as Liam stretched and woke himself up.
"What we doin' for breakfast?" He yawned still not leaving his place in bed. "Should we put an order in or-"
"Nah. I can just run down and get stuff." I offered as I stood up. "I'll be back."
I was nearly to the dining hall when I happened to glance out the window.
Ben and Nic were standing outside under the overhang having cigarettes. Luckily, I thought to put my Northface on before I left me and Liam's room so I was good to go stand out in the mist with the boys.
They didn't notice me come out right away. I could tell they were deep in conversation and when they finally did notice me, the look in their lovely blue eyes made me wonder if I'd been the subject.
