I woke up and saw the duvet to my left. I smiled to myself when I heard Liam's breathing. Muffled from the covers but still there.

I reached under and found him. I entangled my fingers in his hair and began running them through it.

He sighed and pulled me closer. My head was still above the blankets while his was beneath it.

"Let's just stay home today." He suggested. "Pat'll be good without us. Nothin' to worry about."

"What about your Power Point though?" I asked.

"Pat'll be good for that, too. No need for-"

"He hasn't had time to practice it though."

"He don't need practice." He said moving the blankets from shaking his head but not enough to reveal himself.

I raised my eyebrows a little. "You're dodging." I told him.

"No I'm not! But Pat's my assistant-"

"I thought I was your assistant?"

He fell silent for a second and squeezed me tighter. "Please just let us stay home, Blue." He murmured. "I don't feel good. I think I've got glandular fever or summat-"

"Oh for Heaven's sake!" I exclaimed.

"I'm not lyin'! I know what it's like to have it. I had it couple years ago and had to spend a month at home watchin' footie from me fuckin' mattress on the floor!"

            I pursed my lips. "Liam-"

"It's fuckin' true, Jules! Ya can't make this shit up. Please. Just stay in with me. One day won't hurt owt. I'm beggin' ya!"

I knew he wasn't sick and I knew he didn't really have to present that fucking Power Point either. It was the bull shit that came along with everything you'd expect at Pretty Green. He gave his input but he wasn't one of the suits and ties who did all the business stuff. Don't get me wrong though, he tried. He was actively involved. But he wasn't going to stand up in front of people giving a presentation...as far as I knew anyway.

One of the floor staff fell ill and they had no one to replace them.

            "I'll go." I offered.

Liam wasn't thrilled about the idea but I liked being on the floor again. It was nice to be out amongst the customers and other employees. Less stuffy than being holed up in one of the offices.

I was in the middle of sorting through a rack when I saw someone approaching out of the corner of my eye.

            "Oi! Oi!"

I recognized the voice instantly and turned my head to face it with a smile.

"What the heck are you guys doing here?!" I beamed. "Shouldn't you be in Melbourne?"

"Yeah we should." Ben agreed as he played with the lollipop in his mouth. "But wonder boy here was missin' ya!" He thumbed at Matt beside him.

            "Shut up, man!" Matt muttered.

My eyebrows scrunched a little in confused curiousity.
