Knock! Knock!
"Come in!" I instructed looking up from my computer at my closed office door.
The door swung open and I could finally see who had been on the other side.
"Oh. Hey Gene. What's up?"
"Take me away." He said quickly.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "What?" I asked.
"Take me away. Far away. Away from all the bull shit."
I rolled my eyes. "What the-"
"I'm serious Jules!" He sounded more panicked now. "Just for the weekend. Just for the-"
"Gene." I tried to remain calm. "What's the-"
"Please Jules! Please! I've never asked you for nothin' 'til now. I've got it all worked out. Ya won't have to worry about anything-"
"You've got what all worked out?"
He paused for a second gathering his composure. "What I'm gonna tell my mum so she won't worry."
My heart skipped a beat. "Are you insane?!" I exclaimed. "What the hell-"
"Just say you'll take me away Jules." He cut me off. "I'll take care of the rest."
I shook my head. "Gene. I love you but I'm not willing to go to jail for you."
"You won't go to jail for me!"
I pursed my lips at him. "What? Takin' you across city lines won't make that happen? I'm not even gonna chance taking you outta Camden let alone anywhere else."
"Jules-"
"Okay. Humor me." I interrupted. "What's this kick ass plan of yours? Genius."
He nodded sure of himself. "I'll tell Mum I'm stayin' at me mate Alex's house."
"And he'll tell his mom he's staying at yours?" I raised my eyebrows. "'Cuz that always works."
"It will work, yeah? Trust me." His eyes were firm and clear. "Just sort out where we're goin'."
I sighed in thought. It certainly was tempting.
And there was one place I knew we could go.
"We're not going by ourselves though." I informed him.
"Well we're not takin' Dad!" He shot back.
King's Cross Station was well busy. Well buzzing with people of all sorts commuting here, there, and everywhere a track could take them.
I told him just to meet us there from Heathrow. Much easier than a taxi I reckoned.
"Who's the kid?" He asked with half a grin when he got close enough to us.
"I'm not a kid!" Gene snapped.
"Yes you are!" I argued looking right at him. "And you better watch smarting off to him. Our Matt carries a gun." I smirked at the Cester.
"No I don't!" Matt shook his head. "Your Jules is just bein' funny. When's our train leave?"
"Here in about twenty minutes." I looked down at my phone. "Let's go!"
