"There are no signs of forced entry-"

"There wouldn't be." I said flatly as I sat on the couch with my knees brought up under my chin. "He has a key."

"He has a key?" The police officer said with shocked confusion all over her face.

"Yeah. Liam gave him one. He's got a key to the apartment in Hampstead as well. He, um, he can go anywhere Liam can. He has to 'cuz he's his minder."

"Minder?"

"It's British for like a body guard. He's worked for Liam for a while now. Since before Oasis broke up. He's also a partner for Liam's clothing line as well."

"Okay." She said before looking down at her notepad and writing something down.

I looked up and watched the other officers walking through the flat, dusting for fingerprints, taking pictures, and all the other stuff they needed to do to collect evidence. I was too stunned to care as they rummaged through different rooms.

"How's Matt?" I asked the officer. My eyes felt sticky with dried tears.

"Well, he's in the hospital but unfortunately I don't know much else. I'm sure they're doing whatever it takes to-"

"Someone needs to call his mother." The tears started to form again. "She'll be so worried. We were supposed to go home tomorrow-" I sobbed as I thought about it all.

"Shh!" The officer instructed as she grabbed my hand. "Everything's gonna be okay. Jules, do you have anyone in the City you can stay with tonight? Any family or friends?"

I shook my head. "No. My family's in Ohio and Liam's is in England."

"Okay. Why don't you come down to the precinct and I'll help you figure something out?"

I agreed to do so and grabbed my bags. I followed the officer down to the waiting police car outside. When we got to the police station, she took me into some office and sat me down in a chair. She got me a bottle of water and told me to relax.

I did so as best as I could then pulled out my phone.

"Hello?"

"Noel?" I said my eyes cloudy from crying.

"Jules?" He said with concern in his voice. "Is everything okay? You sound-"

"He tried to kill Matt! He, he had a gun! He was going to-"

"Where are you?"

"In New York." I told him. "They won't let me back in Essex House because they said it's a crime scene."

"Where the fuck are ya now then?" He asked.

"Police station. I can't leave New York but I don't wanna be alone!" My tears became hysterical again.

"Shh! It's alright. Listen t'me. I'm gonna book us a room at the hotel I was stayin' at when we first met. D'ya remember where that's at?"

"Yeah."

"Good." He replied. "You'll have the police take ya there and I'll join ya as soon as I can. I'll be on the first flight out."
